If you like food on a stick, come to the Nebraska State Fair (08/25/06-09/4/06). This is probably not a complete list but here is the food on a stick which I've seen for sale at the fair:
Corndog (original and still the best) Cheese Chocolate dipped banana Fried Peach Fried candy bars Fried Twinky Chicken Shrimp Aligator Porkchop Pizza
I have not tried the last 5. I won't try the shrimp (I don't like seafood) or the aligator (I'm not brave enough to eat reptile).

Some of those are weird, like scary weird! I'd like to try a fried Twinky because that's so wrong that it's probably right. I haven't had a real corndog in a long time, would like to get one of those. Those are excellent at a real carnival. Never heard of pizza on a stick and I wonder how that works.

i dunno if i could eat any reptile.

Back about 10 years ago I was an assistant seafood manager for one of the supermarket chains up here in the Northeast and I had alligator steaks. They aren't bad, alot like beef actually. I tried ordering a whole alligator but for some reason they were illegal to bring into New York State! It's already dead, so I don't know why it was illegal, so i got a whole shark instead, which was still really cool-it was a good 6 footer, a white tip i do believe.

I took a look at the pizza on a stick. They look like thick bread with melted cheese and pepperoni on top. Didn't look very good to me.

My Wife made me try Gator on a stick and you know, everything weird people say tastes like chicken, but it honestly did. I didn't like it, but that was because I couldn't get past eating Gator, but in all honesty it was good. Chicken on a stick is good, and nothing beats a good made frtom scratch Corn Dog. It depends on what kind of chacolate is used, but the Bannanas can be good. Fried Snickers bars, while very unhealthy for you, are surprisingly good. Hey Zone, eat a Funnel Cake for me!

Add chocolate nut sundae, steak and cheesecake to the list.
An article in the local paper monday claimed that alligator is healthy because alligators have little fat. Maybe, but not after dipping it in the same stuff that covers corn dogs then deep frying it.
Mostly I've been eating bbq pork and peperoni pizza. We have free concernts every night at 7:00 and before the concerts the radio station that sponsers it has a party for listeners who won passes. About 6:30 when the party is over I'm invited to eat left overs. The country station has the bbq, the rock stations have pizza. Wednesday I'll find out what the Christian station feeds its guests. And whether the supposedly Christian band is any different from the secular rock bands, who steal the towls provided them. The country sings don't walk off with the towels or throw them into the audience.

I did not find any new foods on a stick today.
Tuesday night was a different rock station. They had Mexican food which they did not share with the staff. Once their guests had finished they boxed up the leftovers and carted them off. Tonight was a Christian band. The Christian station did not have a "VIP Reception" so two nights of no free food. Normally during concerts beer is sold (staff are not allowed to drink on duty) but the Christian station had "no alcohol" written into their contract so tonight it was water and soda pop only. I think its back to the country station tomorrow, which probably means BBQ pork. As yet I haven't stayed to hear any of the bands. I hear anough of the warming up to know I'm not interested. Although I did enjoy the first country singers two practice versions of "Heard It In A Love Song". Must be new in his repotire if he has to practice twice.

not a big fan of BBQ flavor, but it sounds like you are getting well fed a few nights a week- that's always a good thing, in my book.

Add pickles and carmeled apples.
My mother told me today that her mother's favorite fair food were those chocolate nut sundaes on a stick and pineapple icecream cones. Since she died shortly after I was born and I'm 42 that means those two item have probably been at the Nebraska State Fair for at least 50 years.
I didn't work Thursday but I've been told the country station switched to fried chicken and the guests ate it all. No concert tonight so no reception. I've been invited to a BBQ tomorrow evening.

One last addition: corn on the cob on stick.
It's all over but the shouting. Tonight I had a funnel cake and a "Hawaiian Shave Ice". My mother and sister tried the alligator on a stick, they didn't like it.

Hee hee, that's funny.
Hey, when it's hot out, nothing cold is really BAD, right?
