Sorry it has been so long since I've been around. Believe it or not, I've been busy. When I say busy I don't mean just running around town like a chicken with its head cut off busy, I mean BUSY.... Y'all may or may not know that I became a firefighter year before last, but last year (07/06) I became a United States Sailor! ;D My rate in the Navy is Construction Mechanic. I am a Seabee!! Wearing cammies to boot! I joined the Reserves early last year and life has been going pretty damned good. I done found enough self-esteem to quit dating losers, gave up dating altogether for awhile, but I got a new man now and he and I are getting along just famously. ;D I finished "A" School with an 89.10% final GPA.... higher than the previous graduating senior class put together. ;D My next move? I dunno. Probably join the Secret Service or some smeg. Nahh. Presently looking for work right now, hopefully something will come along. Will I deploy to Iraq? I don't know. The answer is probably yes. If they ask me to go I'm saying hell yea... someone is gonna pay for all the aggravation I went through in A-school! Running 3 miles with a mouthful of Novocaine... sheesh When? Who the hell knows. I miss you guys, I wonder how you all are doing... and I hope to God that you all are doing as well as I have been. Cheers and Happy New Year! CMCA Constance Goodnow, USNR

Wow, blast from the past for sure. There is a SeaBee base down here in Gulfport, Ms. Any chance you will get stationed there? I know you reserve, but you never know. Wow, instead of Girls Gone Wild, we have Girl Gone Good. Proud of you Connie, keep doing your thing. Having grown up in a military family I have the utmost respect for our men and women in service. Plus I am glad you found a decent guy. See Connie dropped by, now if we could get the Goat Queen to stop by from time to time the Xeno hotties would be back in force. ;D

I dunno if I'm gonna get to Gulfport anytime soon although anything is possible. Reservists usually stay in their hometowns and drill with their units one weekend a month. Guess what? This weekend is it for me.... haha If you're wondering how a whineass couch potato like the civilian me got into the military in a hundred million years, I will sum it up in a nutshell... Ex husband, second wife send kids to me... 3 kids to feed...have job... will take...lose job...no money, still 3 kids to feed...look for job, no job around....need skills....talk to recruiter...why not? I was pretty halfhearted about going in at first because let's face it... RUNNING SUCKS... That was exactly what I was doing, however, when my recruiter who was standing on the street corner with a stopwatch got nailed by an old biddy. I had just completed my 2nd lap and was starting my 3rd when I hear all hell break loose behind me. I heard him scream and forgot how tired I was, sprinted back at top speed to where he was laying on the pavement with a leg broken in 28 places (compound fracture) It was then that I vowed to go to boot camp and finish it for Jones, no matter how hard the RDC's were, no matter how much running I had to do, etc. Incidentally his CO gave me a small unit coin to thank me for having helped him out like that. I still have it and carried with me all through boot and all through A-school. I checked up on him whenever I could. That man nearly died trying to help me and I was damned if I was going to let it be for nothing. I'm hoping to see him sometime soon, because I don't think he'll recognize me and he will be surprised. ;D but anyway that is the story and I'm sticking to it.

Hi Connie! It's nice to see you back. Wow, you're doing a lot of great things with your life. All the best to you with which ever direction you decide to go with your career.
Last year was rough for my family. We experienced deaths among family and friends, and then I got laid off permanently again from my last computer job. I went on unemployment and tried to find work with computers or manufacturing, but nothing was happening. I decided to go in a totally different direction and go to school to get my CDL A. This is something I thought about before, but never had the opportunity. Last weekend, I passed all my final tests and the CDL should arrive in the mail next week. My school has job placement, so I should be back to work in the near future. I'm really excited about it, as I've found I love driving those big tractor trailers.
Again, best of luck to you and may 2007 be a better year for all of us! Lunk

images.military.com/MemberImageUpload/d458/458655Taken a couple months ago while I was AD... ;D The guitar in the picture was the "A" school guitar. I so wanted to take it home with me..... but I had no idea how the hell I was going to do it. So I ended up selling her. I'm very fortunate and very blessed. For once, there are people telling me what to do... that have a head on their shoulders and know how to deal with their subordinates wisely. For that, I will truly follow them into the gates of hell. And for the first time in my life, I can hold my head up high. Not to mention I can go to Japan for free....
