i didn't watch the miniseries, and was in CO and not too coherent for this- they only aired 6 episodes anyway. the first one seems fun, although the cg dinosaurs aren't convincing in the least. at least they are there, and don't have feathers. i like the show so far, but have only watched the first episode.

I caught a few bits & pieces when it aired and didn't care much for it.

Why is it that every time they create a series based in a place where dinosaurs exist they forget to actually include dinosaurs?Think about it,every series to deal with dinosaurs within a few weeks all but drops the dinosaurs from the show.LAND OF THE LOST original version had plenty of dinosaurs in the first few episodes but by the second season they almost vanished from the series, the 90's version had even less dinosaurs in it.THE LOST WORLD started off decent but within a few weeks they forgot about dinosaurs and instead concentrated on having people that SPEAK PERFECT ENGLISH in a land that IS SUPPOSED TO BE LOST FROM CIVILIZATION.Dinotopia was a somewhat decent miniseries but the regular series was a bore.

i thought there were plenty of dinosaurs in LOTL, i mean, towards the end of the first season they had Grumpy and Alice fight! at least, at some point they did.
the Lost World tv show, well, yeah, that was kind of iffy. i can see where they didn't want to have every story be ABOUT the dinosaurs, but then if they don't even show up or be a focus once in a while, why bother with them at all. just make the show called LOST and be done with it.
oh, wait.

i just watched the mini-series, and that was pretty fun. starting to re-watch this series now. at least they picked up right where the series left off.
i do find it funny- "Dino" comes from the Greek "deinos' meaning "terrible"- has nothing to do with lizard or reptile- that would be sauros. so this is "Terrible-Topia" if thought about and translated correctly.

i do enjoy the series, even if they have some silly episode titles (Car Wars) and this same episode has a "Christmas Carol" theme as well, but overall it's a fun show, and it would have been interesting to see where it would have gone.

just finished the series, and it ends on a cliffhanger. how annoying is that? it was a pretty good show, and could only have gotten better, which is sad that it was cancelled.
