Doug McClure ... David Innes Peter Cushing ... Dr. Abner Perry Caroline Munro ... Princess Dia Cy Grant ... Ra Godfrey James ... Ghak Sean Lynch ... Hoojah Keith Barron ... Dowsett Helen Gill ... Maisie Anthony Verner ... Gadsby Robert Gillespie ... Photographer Michael Crane ... Jubal Bobby Parr ... Sagoth Chief Andee Cromarty ... Girl Slave
i'm apparently in the minority on this movie, but i really enjoy it. sure, the monsters are a bit too silly, but in the original novel Burroughs had a stegosaurus actually flying about the lost land of Pellucidar! so while they are outlandish, they can't really top that one!
David Innes and Dr. Perry try out the new Iron Mole. it malfunctions and leads them to Pellucidar, where they meet up with Dia (changed from Dian) the Beautiful and end up overthrowing the brutal Mahar regime there.
it's exciting and fun. music is good and the actors do as well with it as they can. Caroline is fetching!

Oh, yeah! I bought this on DVD a while back. I always liked it too, and the monsters are a lot of fun. Great to see McClure and Peter Cushing and Caroline Munro in one flick.

I love the Pelucidar stories but wasn't completely crazy about this adaptation. The main thing it had going for it was Caroline in that leather one piece bikini. ;D
Actually liked the other movie on the two-fer disc on this better, Wargods of the Deep.
Of course Land That Time Forgot is the very pinnacle of what Doug was all about in those movies. Great stuff.

I love this movie. It has everything: beautiful women, imaginative monsters, a lot of action, and the infamous line: You can't mesmerize me! I'm British!
I liked the McClure Quadrilogy in general. I thought that "People that Time Forgot" was probably the least of the four, probably because it comes across as being so far-fetched in comparison with the (relatively) realistic "Land that Time Forgot."

"Monster?? We're British, you know!"
I liked War Gods of the Deep also...great as a double-movie disc with At the Earth's Core. War Gods was a really difficult film for me to see back in the day and it's cool that this disc was released.

i haven't seen WARGODS in many years, not since i taped it off AMC one night early in the 90s. i originally saw it on late night tv and it was difficult to stay awake through it. it disappointed me, but i'd give it another shot now.

I saw this as a kid when first released in 1977. Many years later, I saw it again on the big screen this time with Caroline Munro on hand!
It really is a fun movie with three very likable leads. (Unlike these days, where even the lead character has to be so very dark).
And it is interesting to see Peter Cushing doing more-or-less a Lionel Jeffries impersonation.

I've always loved this movie since I saw it at the drive-in as a tyke(I was 5 or 6 at the time, but I still vivdly remember it!) Later it showed up on one of the local UHfs(ch23) fairly regularly. The dvd is great(I have the older single movie release, but it's the same I assume as the double feature), and it looks great widescreen! McClure, Cushing and Caroline are all wonderful(especially the oh-so-delectable Caroline!!). Of course it's not much like the actual ERB novel, but it's still fun. I like the monsters, especially the 2 bipedal flesh eating brontotherium-monsters! Recently I watched this with my sons(aged 12 and 13) and they loved it as well!

First time I encountered this film was on late night tv.I fell asleep before getting to the monsters. Now as an old man I still fall asleep.I really want to like this film but it just doesn't do it for me.I like WAR GODS OF THE DEEP alot better. That one seems to flow better while AT THE EARTH'S CORE seems to have too many slow moments.Even the scene in the volcano with the winged monsters gets tedious for me.I have also read the books by Burroughs and as usual the film version strays a bit too far from the source material.

i like it more than the other two Burrough's adaptions, though perhaps not as much as WARLORDS OF ATLANTIS, which is an original (sorta) story.

WARLORDS OF ATLANTIS, now that's one I saw first-run at the drive in. I thought it was a wild and fun fantasy movie but still didn't compare to LAND THAT TIME FORGOT, which to me had a more serious and epic feel to it.
I was a bit confused back then about Doug McClure being in all these movies. I wondered if he was the same character in different adventures or something like that.

McClure was just the perfect guy for this type of movie--your basic American male lead for an action film. Kept a straight face in the face of rubber monster suits and props. It's nice to see that folks still like and watch these films.
