I saw a copy of "Werewolf Shadow" (the uncut, letterboxed Anchor Bay version of "Werewolf vs. Vampire Woman) and it was reasonably priced, so I grabbed it, and WOW, it is nice. There is even an interview with Molina that has some clips of his various werewolf movies, so you can see the differences in the makeups, etc. Dayum!

that is something i'd like to see- it has to be better than the cut version.

It is pretty nice...like the uncut "Suspiria" that Anchor Bay put out, it has scenes that were never dubbed into English (and are presented in their original language, with English subtitles). There's more nudity and violence, too.
This movie doesn't make much sense at all, but that seems to be one of its charms. "Spooky Stuff Just Happens"!

I've seen Horror Rises from the Tomb, which was okay. I'd like to see more of Naschy's work, if I can find the films cheap enough. The film I mentioned was in a $6 Brentwood set, Horror Rises from the Grave (boy, they went the extra mile for a set title there, eh?). I'll have to look for that cheapie double disc and see what else is out there.

I picked up the Frankenstein’s Bloody Terror DVD at Best Buy for $10.99. It was in the Science Fiction section instead of Horror. They had only the one copy.
The DVD has an interview with Paul Naschy. It's in Spanish but pressing the subtitles button a couple of times I discovered it does have English subtitles. The subtitles are not entirely correct however. Although he clearly says "Talbot" in talking about the original wolfman the subtitles render the name as "Stewart". The outtakes section also has subtitles. The movie itself is dubbed in English.
There's an easy to find Easter Egg. In the (other films) Trailers. Cclick on the Fangoria logo to get more trailers.

Similar story here...found the disc for $10.99 at BestBuy, grabbed it, took it home, and fell in love with it more or less. It's great to see Sam Sherman's "WOLFSTEIN! WOLFSTEIN!!" opening in 2.35:1, I was satisfied with the transfer, there were a goodly amount of extras...for around ten bucks, I thought it was a great value and a good inexpensive way to get better acquainted with Waldemar the Werewolf. Really super neat disc with cool original poster art on the box.

Yes, it's the English dub. There was only one copy at the BestBuy I went to, also, almost as if they figured there was only one person in town who would want it, and ordered only one. I also went to Fry's Electronics in Burbank, and noticed that they had exactly one copy as well...
Anyway, I bought "Fury of the Wolfman" a couple of years ago and got rid of it because it seemed awful (a bunch of footage from other Waldemar films cobbled together into a feature, so I am told). But "Werewolf Shadow" turned out to be a good purchase in my opinion, and now "Frankenstein's Bloody Terror" has also measured up...

this is really cool- it's Media Blasters, which should come as no surprise to us that they do quality work. now if only they got the Mysterians US dub...

I read that the dubbing changed the ending of the Mysterians, but since the dubbing on the DVD is not the original US version its ending is the same as the Japanese with English subtitles version.

I finally got this disc and ,man, it's great! This has always been my second or third favorite Naschy film(first being WEREWOLF SHADOW and the other second being LA BESTIA Y LA ESPADA MAGICA) and finally getting to see the US version with the restored opening 2 reels in widescreen is so great! Yes, there's still a few snips here and there missing, but that doesn't matter, plus they are on the deleted scenes section. The original Spanish version has a completely different score(the same one used in FURY OF THE WOLFMAN) that, i think, is not nearly as good or atmospheric as the grand gothic score added to the dubbed version. Now the exact origin of that score is mysterious, to me anyways. Sam Sherman didn't add it-the HELL'S CREATURES titles that he took off the film and replaced with his own ridiculous Frankenstein ones have the same music as the rest of the dubbed film, so I believe the score was replaced by the german company that coproduced the film and handled the worldwide sales, but that's just a guess. Naschy gives his best wolfman performance here with a savage , bounding, slashing animalistic portrayal that is truly great. Now if they would only release the 3-D version!

i'd like to see "Magic Spade" since it's actually referenced in this movie.
i'm not sure if the US dub changed the Mysterians ending or not, but i did just make a nice DVDr of the movie.

I was right about the music score. The dubbed version's score comes from Bruno Nicolai and was added in Germany where it was dubbed. The original music was by Angel Arteaga, and oddly, they kept Arteaga's name on the credit's of the HELL'S CREATURES print. I was reading the very long thread concerning this disc on Latarnia's Naschy board and one guy put the Wolfstein narration as his answering machine message. That cracked me up so much i had to do it myself. I changed it a little though I first, in my best imitation of the FBT narrator said "you have reached the dank dungeon abode of.. and then used the line "Wolfstein! Wolfstein-the inhuman clan of blood hungry wolf monsters!" hehehe.

I finally watched Frankenstein’s Bloody Terror DVD . I didn't understand the ending. Why did what happened to the male vampire happen?
Another question, why doesn't the werwolf stay dead but returns in later films?

answer to first question:A werewolf is also a supernatural creature thus has the power to kill a vampire.
answer to second question:same reason all the Universal Monsters and Toho monsters were inexplicably revived for sequels.

Another reason Daninsky didn't stay dead is most of his films are actually unconnected to each other, much like the Millenium Godzilla movies.

it seems like the werewolf movies are loosely connected, more like the original Godzilla series than anything designed. which gives them a bit more freedom.
