Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1932)
This Paramount film stars Fredric March.
They pronounced Jekyll as "Jeekal".
The scene between Dr. Jekyll and his fiancee in the garden was too dramatic for my taste. Over done.
The first scene with Jekyll and Ivy though tame by modern standards must have been scandelous in 1932.
Mr. Hyde was ugly though not frigteningly so. He was sort of ape like.
Over all I liked the older silent film better.

was it this one or the next that won an Oscar? Jee-kul is actually the way it should be pronounced.
