For what's it worth my opinion on what are the best movies in each set:
Dracula Dracula & Daughter of Dracula
Frankenstein Frankenstein & Bride of Frankenstein Rather silly in the rest of the films that monster has lost the ability to speak.
The Mummy The Mummy The problem I have with the other films is that the Mummy in those is such a slow moving monster I can't help but think its victims are stupid for just standing there allowing it to strangle them when a brisk walk would escape it. I kept finding myself shouting at the tv, "Move, you idiot!"
The Wolfman The Wolfman I've always felt sorry for Larry Talbot. I do wonder why he becomes a wolf-man not an actual wolf like Bela who bit him, and why he doesn't stay dead when killed. "House of Dracula" seems to give an answer to the first but not the second. (Note: I haven't watched She Wolf of London yet)
The Invisible Man The Invisible Man
I haven't watched the 3 Creature movies yet. Some of the other movies I had seen before but the 3 Creatures are all new to me.
Anybody know why Lon Chaney (Jr) was the Mummy so often? Couldn't have been very satifiying roles. Frankenstein's monster at least gets to grunt every once in awhile.

did you ever get to see the Creature movies? the first is the best, but the second one is fun. i think Lon did what the studios told him to do back then, and that was horror roles, although he was a decent actor. he didn't stay dead since "there's only one way to kill a werewolf..." (joke, i just wanted to use the quote). i think really he didn't stay dead because you can't keep a good monster down. thank goodness!

Yes I did. They killed him off in the first film, only to do a second. They killed him in the second film only to do a third. They left him alive in the third film, no fourth.

Plus, I believe Lon always loved to brag that he played more monsters - The Wolf Man, Frankenstein, Dracula's son and The Mummy than either Karloff or Lugosi. Also since these horror movies were very successful in the early 1940s, and considering Universal, unlike say MGM or Warner Brothers, did not have big name stars, Lon Chaney was almost like their bread and butter!
Others not mentioned in the series that I liked:
Frankenstein series: Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man.
Invisible Man: The Invisible Man Returns. It was this and not The House of Wax, that was Vincent Price's first horror role.
Creature series: Revenge of the Creature. Clearly not as good as the first, but still intriguing.

Chaney Jr. did say that he despised playing the Mummy. He loved doing all the other monsters, but the Mummy was always a hassle, because of the eight-hour make-up process. That's something I wouldn't enjoy going through either!
But anyway, I only have three of the Legacy Collections, and my favorites on each set are:
DRACULA (my favorite of the three)
...Pretty much all of them, with the possible exception of SON OF DRACULA. A pretty good movie, but Chaney Jr. as the Count is a stretch beyond anything.
FRANKENSTEIN
BRIDE & SON OF FRANKENSTEIN. The original is a classic, without question. And it holds tons of sentimental value to me (as do all Universal horror films).
THE WOLF MAN
FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN. My all-time favorite of the entire series. The first one I ever saw, and it still holds up.
