Night Stalker series

I'm not going to watch it, but the Night Stalker remake series starts Thursday. I don't like remakes and I don't watch Disney owned ABC. If Universal would release the original "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" series on DVD I would buy it (even though I have the Columbia House VHS tapes).

My father who has seen the promos for the new series thinks its going to be too much like all the other ghost series that are out now. And doesn't plan to watch it. I expect it will be a lot like X-Files, which after watching the first episode I forgot to tune in.

yeah, this looks completely bad and poorly thought out. if they are gonna do this, why not make it a sequel, have Kolchak's kids looking for him or something? i have no desire to see it.

i do hear the original series is coming out on DVD at some point, which i will definately be interested in.

If for only one thing, that's why I'm glad they remade it, so that the original could get put out on DVD to sponge off the marketing.

Thanks for letting us know. I just orded a set. According to TvShowsOnDVD this is a 3 disc set, two double sided, one single and it does not contain the two tv movies. The rights to the movies belong to MGM, the series to Universal. If you want the movies and the weekly series you'll need to buy The Night Stalker/The Night Strangler DVD which was released in August of 2004. Deepdiscountdvd.com has it for $9.12.

i was wondering if that $26 price was for the entire run of the show. that is some good news, and i'll be wanting to get that series. thanks for the news.
