Well, I just got done downloading about four movies and three cartoons for free at the Prelinger Movie Archive. Evidently, this website has a bunch of public domain movies for free download and it's all legal because, well, they don't officially belong to anyone. This is great, especially here in Brazil, as I can have access to classics that I couldn't otherwise watch. Cool, huh?
The movies I got are: Carnival of Souls, Nightmare Castle, Night of the Living Dead, and White Zombie.

Using high-speed internet, it takes about an hour or so to download a 200 mb mpeg4 movie. The site also offers the movies in both mpeg and mpeg-2 files.
I also found a couple of old Bugs Bunny cartoons and the old school Superman cartoon where he fights Godzilla's predecessor. They also offer serials (Radar Men, Undersea Kingdom, Flash Gordon, and one about a lost kindgom in Africa).

Italian movies are known also for having lots of atmosphere, good looking women and they tend toward boring- usually the later 60s, but some of the muscle movies as well. lots of soap going on.
nice review though. the site is nice to see what is "PD" and what isn't as well.

Could someone post a link, and a how-to guide to get around the site? It's confusing as hell, and very poorly laid out, thanks..

Yes, thanks much. A little confusing cause the download info is on the left hand side of the page for each film.

Find anything you like? I'll probably have a review of Horror Hotel up in the next week.

You're welcome Lunkhead. I recently posted a review of "City of the Dead" (Horror Hotel) at the site. www.geocities.com/drngor/horrorh.htmlIt's the one review where I really get subjective on the topic of religion and such. Not that I attack any other, but my personal feelings regarding religion influence my opinion of the film.

So, I mentioned in another post that Voyage to a Prehistoric Planet, Women of a Prehistoric Planet, an La Voyage Dans La Lune were made available. They also have the 1920s 20,000 leagues film and some Czech commie film called "Bororo UFO".
