I'd seen this creepy flick several times at Drive-Ins and on TV years ago. Picked up the DVD at BestBuy for $6.99 and watched it again last night.
Roddy McDowall and Pamela Franklin are excellent in this Richard Matheson story about the Mount Everest of haunted houses. This thriller pulls you into its eerie atmosphere in the tradition of other great scare films like THE HAUNTING (1963). The story is intriguing and takes unexpected turns. There's not a ton of background music, except for some occasional experimental stuff (which is quite cool BTW). That approach works here, replacing music with scary sound effects. Highly recommended - watch it in a dark room at night for a good thrill.

I've tried to watch this flick a few times through the years and couldn't get into it. I hear alot of good things about it, though, so I should probably revisit it again.
