Fiona Lewis - Lucy Westenra

This film was originally titled "Bram Stoker's Dracula" but has been released on DVD as "Dan Curtis' Dracula" probably so its not confused with Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 film (he should have came up with his own title, not stollen Dan Curtis').
The DVD includes interviews with Jack Palance and Dan Curtis. Palance says he has seen several Draculas but has never watched his own. Curtis admits he stole from himself in making this film. So if there are simularities to "Dark Shadows" it's intentional.
This is not Dan Curtis' best work. I think he handled the vampire plot better in "Night Stalker". I prefered Jack Palace as Jekyll and Hyde. He wore the Dracula cape well but is given no good lines, "no children of the night" bit. Most of his dialogue comes in the beginning with Harker and at the end with Arthur Holmwood and Dr. Van Helsing. For the rest of the film he hisses and roars. Nigel Davenport (Dr. Van Helsing) played Lord Harry Wotton in Dan Curtis' "The Picture of Dorian Gray".
I rented "Bram Stoker's Dracula" on a double-sided DVD along with "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". Search for just "Dracula" or "Dan Curtis".
