The Embalmer (1965)
An Italian film dubbed in English.
A homicidal maniac stalks Venice, Italy, carrying young woman down into his underground lair where he embalms them and adds them to his collection, posing them like statues. To prove he's a maniac, he talks to the bodies, which provides the best clue to his identity, his voice.
For most of the film the killers face is not seen. Then at the end he finally faces the camera, to reveal that he's wearing a skull mask. Only when the hero of the piece (a newspaper reporter) catches up to him is his true identity revealed.
A poor horror movie, but an okay murder mystery.
