Night Fright (1967)
John Agar - Sheriff Clint Crawford Ralph Baker Jr. - Chris Dorothy Davis - Judy Bill Thurman - Deputy Ben Whitfield Roger Ready - Professor Alan Clayton
I'd call this a D movie. After a "burning" object crashes to earth a couple of college students parked in the woods are murdered. Federal agents take possesion of the object, a crashed rocket and won't let the local sheriff or newspaper reporter near it. The sheriff not wanting to cause a panic convinces the newspaper reporter not to print the story and sends four other students home without explaining why. The rebelious teens who think the sheriff is just power mad sneak back out to the lake. They should have all been killed but the students who found the bodies drive out to the lake to warn the others to leave, without telling them why they should. So only the boyfriend of the sister of the sheriff's girlfriend is killed. The sheriff is attacked but survives and sets a trap for the monster.
This is a poorly written, badly acted film. The music is awful. Most of the picture is too dark. There's one scene where you can just make out the monster's face. It has the head of a Klingon (ST:TNG version), the body of ape and the feet of an oversized alligator.
The only good thing about this film is that its mercifully short at 75 minutes. According to a comment at IMdb this film had a budget of $18,000.
Available on $1 DVD along with Sisters of Death (1976).

i think this is one of Larry Buchanon's bombs. he directed some of the most boring movies ever, far worse than any Ed Wood film (those are at least fun!).
