Night of the Living Dead (1968)
A space probe returning from Venus brings radiation to Earth which causes the unburied dead to come to life as flesh eating monsters. Can three men, two women and a sick girl trapped in an old farm house survive the Night of the Living Dead?
The tv news broadcaster in this film correctly refered to the walking dead as ghouls, not zombies.
I did not like the ending of the film.
I have Night of the Living Dead (1968) on a $1 DVD. Since its fallen in to the public domain its even possible to download it for free.
Next I'm going to do a vampire movie marathon.

i've always thought this movie was incredibly overrated. the ending is a surprise, and it's made a mark on the world of film overall, but it's just not very good.
and these really aren't "zombies" in the traditional sense, more like ghouls.

I finally watched this movie this month after having it in my collection for 3 years. I really enjoyed it, although I was distracted numerous times to help take care of my daughter. I thought it was a good movie, had some good action/gore sequences, and a downer ending that didn't seem tacked on or like something a hack would do. I'm not sure if Romero zombies are my thing, but I'll give the film it's due.
