Never heard of this series SPACE PATROL until last night while cruising youtube. The puppets are similar but more primitive looking than what Gerry Anderson was doing in the same time period (Fireball XL5), but the overall effects aren't bad. The series is on R2 UK DVD but a little too expensive for me without knowing much about the show. Looks cool though. On a kinda related note, I scored pretty well on ebay a couple of weeks ago with what seems to be an official R4 Austrailian box set of season one of SPACE:1999. It's six DVD9 discs with all episodes and no real extras to speak of, but was $20. Which is why I stress it seems to be an official set, because that's dirt cheap. Video quality is excellent.

SCORE! You can watch almost all of the episodes of SPACE PATROL here. You can either stream them like on Youtube or download the episodes in several different formats. Pretty neat.

I've wound up liking it more than Fireball XL5 just because it's not quite so wacky and silly. The download speeds from guba are pretty impressive. I have sort of psuedo DSL and can download from them at an average of about 150kbps. That's fast for my rig. Also found this show called DRAGON HUNTERS on guba. I guess it was on Cartoon Network at some point. It looks pretty good. Nice art direction and fluid cell animation.
