Ban Daisuke is rumored to be headed to the Comic Con this year... I need a nice picture of him and Kikaida to get an autograph. Wow, this will be really cool if it's true. Hope so!

I thought you were talking about deodorant or getting barred from the Con for a sec!

If Ban and Auntie Joanne (Joanne Ninomiya, president of JN Productions, Inc.) make it, you'll find them at the Anime Jungle booth! Oh -- they might be coming up to San Francisco on the way back to Honolulu, so I can show them around! Will let you guys know as soon as I do...

Thanks August. I hope to just say hi and thank him for his hard work to entertain us, if he doesn't want to do autographs that's cool with me.

He played Jiro in the show Kikaida (you have an episode on a tape for fun). Great action, great story. Once I send it to you, let me know iffen you like it.

Will do and thanks. I knew it was something Japanese, and it was probably a hero show, then again look at the forum it's in! D'Oh!

He was also Watari, Goro in Inazuman and Inazuman Flash and Izumo, Daisuke/Captor 7 in Ninja Kyaputer [Ninja Captor].

And to further confuse things, he is billed in both of those series as "Ban Naoya"/"Naoya Ban", a name he used for a number of years (he is also billed that way in LIVEMAN and JETMAN).
Chad, you may also have seen him in the original Japanese version of RING, or "RINGU" if you prefer.

I forgot, for a while, that he was also the second Battle Cossack in Battle Fever J.

It is now confirmed -- Joanne Ninomiya e-mailed me this morning -- she and Ban Daisuke will be attending the San Diego Comic Con next weekend. Ban will be at the Super 7 booth on Sat. 7/24. They will indeed be coming to San Francisco on the way back to Honolulu, and we will spend the day together. So, I will forward your messages to Ban-san.

Bah. Who cares? Power rangers own Kikaida.

Why post in this at all if you don't care? Without Kikaida there would be NO Power Rangers.

Why post in this at all if you don't care? Without Kikaida there would be NO Power Rangers. No actually without Sentai there wouldn't be Power Rangers. Kikaida has nothing to do with PR. As for why I posted, I don't know. Just felt like it

Since Kikaida predates sentai, and there was a team of androids (Kikaida, 01 and Bijinda) in the second series, as well as 5 Kamen Riders in the X Rider movie, I think the idea of brightly colored warriors can be traced to those directly (as well as Gatchaman, Triple Fighter and Cyborg 009). So no Kikaida, no sentai, no PR. See? Easy.

Uh whatever. I just don't like to watch things that are older than me.
Without PR I wouldn't have a life.

Dear Michael,
Please be aware of the following three facts :
1) Megaloman is the board owner and administrator
2) Daisuke Ban WAS (as established earlier) part of a sentai series in BATTLE FEVER J. Ergo, your post is irrelevant.
3) You are being very disrespectful to both Daisuke Ban and Megaloman. Stop. Now. Please contribute in a postive manner.
Oh, and this?
PROBABLY not the kind of thing you want to go around admitting.

Yeah I know all about Mr. Megaloman
And if I want to admit that Power Rangers is my life, that's my business. I'm not a closet fan, I'm very open about my love for the best T.V. show ever created.

Ah, of COURSE you know! But see, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, DekaRed. I have no objection to you lovng PR or even thinking it's the best show ever, but there's a lot more to life than computers and TV. Try it, you might like it.
