Did we ever decide if this was a compilation movie, or if it has added scenes with Taiwanese extras? It looks like they had ALL the sets and stuff if it was filmed in Taiwan, which seems fairly elaborate to me. I miss El-Brazo!

Having never seen MACH BARON, it looks to me like a Taiwanese movie with footage and costumes from that show. Just the way it is edited together makes me feel that way. Could be wrong though.
And no, I haven't forgotten the box.

I watched the movie and I agree with you. So that's what I wrote. No hurries on the box, your stuff won't go anyway.

Here's an *odd* footnote. I was thumbing through a book on manga today and they had some small pics of non-Japanese comics based on anime. One of the covers was for a Spanish MAZINGER Z comic. At first, I didn't pay attention that much because I had already seen European Mazinger art in MANGA! MANGA! from the 80s. Closer inspection revealed that THIS Spanish Mazinger Z comic was the "New Adventures" of MAZINGER Z - EL ROBOT DE LAS ESTRELLAS! And there was a cartoon Mach Baron impersonating Mazinger Z again. And there was a "roll call" strip down the side of the cover which depicted the other characters as seen in that spurious Mazinger film. And there went my head, because it just exploded. Who authorized the comic? Surely it can't be based on the official Mazinger Z license. I can't imagine they would let this by in a comic, even if they *had* (and this is extremely unlikely itself) greenlighted the Mach Baron makeover. I'm guessing this is licensed from whoever released the Spanish dub. It certainly displays a lot more stones in infringing copyright than I would think wise. Wait, this just in escena.ya.com/trashland/imita/intro.htmlwww.todocoleccion.net/lote.cfm?Id_Lote=565290

Well, anyway, meanwhile I have two volumes of Super Robot Mach Baron, so I can confirm that Roboter der Sterne is not a compilation movie. Though it seems to follow a part of the original series and incorporates the special effect scenes, the actors are all different.
