Cliff MacMillan has authorized the announcement of the first out of three new tokusatsu titles from BCI/Ronin Entertainment, which will see release before their previously-announced SUPER ROBOT: RED BARON! IRON KING Coming to R1 DVD from BCI/Ronin Entertainment!Senko Planning's second visual effects series, IRON KING (1972), a 26-episode action-packed superhero series featuring the serio-comic adventures of secret agent Gentaro Shizuka and his sidekick Goro Kirishima, as they travel across Japan seeking out terrorists who threaten to overthrow the government. When danger strikes, Goro transforms into the hydrogen-powered cyborg Iron King to confront the villains’ giant robot monsters in hand-to-hand combat. IRON KING features eye-popping visual effects from the team who brought you Ultraman, complimented by a driving score from Shunsuke “Dragon Ball Z” Kikuchi. Tapped as a consultant, I heartily recommended IRON KING (and the other two series in the pipeline) to Cliff MacMillan of BCI/Ronin Entertainment, and was subsequently contracted to prepare the written supplementary materials for all three series, as well as editing the English subtitle scripts. Uncut and fully subtitled in English, IRON KING is the first of three releases by Ronin Entertainment from the Senko Planning catalogue, including SUPER ROBOT: RED BARON. IRON KING will be available in a complete series collection, set for nationwide release on November 6, 2007. There's another title for my Netflix queue (if I like the first disc I'll probably buy the set).
I would guess Silver Kamen or Super Robot: Mach Baron.

Maha Baron seems likely to me, due to Red Baron being out, but whatever it is, i'm sure it will be cool!

Fantastic news indeed!! I have eps 1-16 of this wacky off kilter but excellent series and love it! I love that Iron King's human identity is actually the comic relief character and not the hero and that in 26 episodes he fights 3 seperate groups of villians each with completely different kinds of monsters(giant robots, dinosaurs and bugs!). I can't wait to find out what the third series will be!!!!!

less than two weeks away, and a great price at DeepDiscount.com- about $23- you can't beat that!
if you told me even five years ago that this series would be out on legit R1 DVD with subs, i'd have just laughed.

i got my set today, and watched the first three episodes. man, a fun show with a little bit of a bite to it underneath the monsters, heroes, effects and costumes.
love the gun Goro uses. it's amazing these animated effects are better than anything in the Kamen Rider shows (which i still love, but did not have the best effects). i'm also still completely astounded that this set, of this superhero show from Japan is sitting on my shelf with subtitles and everything. who knew back in 2002?
a great job all around.

you should get out more, then. Iron King is a very good show.
hey, the nun in episode #16 didn't fall in love with Gentaro, and she lives. i'm also astounded that #17's monster is named DODZILLA. i mean, really. no one had a problem with that?

BCi should do something useful and release ultraman dyna, gaia, cosmos, nexus, max, and mebius all on R1 dvd. If you don't like what they are doing, why don't you start your own DVD company and put them out? Screw Iron King, I never even heard of that show till last week. He's been around since 1972, and he's never heard of you.

Yeah, that's exactly why no one will be going through the expense of importing these titles, with "fans" like you. Have a nice day!

just finished up the series and it ends well, despite being shortened (thank you Mazinga Z). it's too bad the next episode previews weren't present for most of the episodes.
well worth the money!

I finally finished watching this series. It was different. Wonder which one "Tenko" catches and marries.
Was funny when Gentaro Shizuka tried to "Rider Kick" a Titanian.
