I read on Henshin!Online that a new mirrorman series would be out in Japan, as well as the Ultra Q, and new Ultraman shows....was that just a rumor, or is the show still in the planning stages, or is it done and over with on Japanese TV? I know Ultra Q finished up (gotta see about finding those on HK DVD on EBay), but not a word on Mirrorman....anyone got a clue? Thanks! "Please return the egg!"-Shobijin

The new MIRRORMAN series is still on the drawing boards... hopefully, it will be produced soon... I heard rumors that there will be a new JUMBORG ACE series as well... I'd like to see more non-Ultra heroes from Tsuburaya Productions... the new MIRRORMAN series will feature a human-sized hero, not a giant hero, which will be a welcomed change, IMHO. Let's see what develops...

A new JUMBORG ACE series would be awesome! I'd also love to see more non-Ultras from tsuburaya.Mirrorman was originally supposed to be a human sized hero-they even filmed a short pilot film ,that was, honestly, kinda dull.No monsters, not even any Rider-type kaijin! I would imagine, though, that this proposed new series would feature the human sized mirrorman fighting kaijin and not just Yakuza types every week.I love the original series,it's one of my all time favorite tokusatsu shows in fact,so I have to admit that i would prefer a return of the giant Mirrorman, but a human sized version could work as well,if done right.

Very interesting to know about the New Mirrorman. Hope this can confirm next year, because Mirrorman is really cool! I read once, that Tetsuo Narikawa (the Joj have a project to bring back a new Spectroman/Spectreman on the screens in a sequence of the first spectre. I get a pic that could be the new design of the "new Spectroman": img.photobucket.com/albums/v128/pipoi/newSpectroman6095.jpgLet's cross the fingers!

No offfense, but Mirrorman like the original Ultraman puts me to sleep. I'm about half way through Jumborg Ace (on VCD), its replacing Fireman as my favorite Tsuburaya series. I think a remake is terrible idea. Remakes are never as good as the original. See my Jumborg Ace web page at incolor.inetnebr.com/stuart/ja/Keep in mind its a work in progress. I'm adding to it regularly. As for Spectreman that's one P-Production series that did not interest me. I prefer the 2 Lion Maru, Tiger 7 and Denjin Zaboga. "Beam Emerald!"

If you understood the dialogue, you wouldn't fall asleep... but, it is a more science fiction-oriented story, compared to action shows like ZABOGA. Still, that doesn't make it bad, because MIRRORMAN is considered one of the better 1970s shows by Japanese fans, and was issued twice on laserdisc -- so, that's gotta say something.
