that is some great news! here's hoping that they will work with a US company on a new Ultraman DVD release, though it might be a tough sell.

Don't expect to hear about any new Ultra Series DVDs for the States for about a year -- Japanese companies usually wait a year after a big settlement to move. Now that Bandai has control of the home video rights (in Japan), who knows what's going to happen? Could they be released through Bandai Visual USA?

How does this effect ownsership of other Tsuburaya productions, like Jumborg Ace and Fireman?
Did BCI get Ultraman from Tsuburaya or the other company? If the other does that make them bootlegers?

FIREMAN was always a Tsuburaya Productions property, but JUMBORG ACE was one of the series that Chaiyo claimed that they owned (along with ULTRA Q though ULTRAMAN TARO). Now, they are all back with Tsuburaya.
As for BCI, no. This is because they licensed the rights from Chaiyo, who presented them with legal papers, which were checked out by BCI's lawyers. Now that the rights will be reverting back to Tsuburaya, I don't know what the implications are. They were bamboozled by Chaiyo.
