The poor reviews seem to have done their damage. The film only grossed 17 million for it's opening weekend.spiderman 2 which has been out for about two months came pretty close pulling in 15 million. And it grossed a helluvalot more on it's opening DAY than CATWOMAN in three days.

I'm not surprised. The Cat is cool, but this one... well, it's an awful mask to start with. Plus her cg whip is totally lame, really. I'm going to see Spider-man today!

The costume sucks. If Halle Berry is in letaher/latex and it doesn't make you go schwing, there is certainly a problem with the costume. I think the other thing is alot of people going see the comic movies are at least familiar with them.(except maybe Hellboy as it was underground before the movie hit and Darkhorse picked it up. There were the comics, but several Spiderman, Hulk, and X Men cartoons) Catwoman was on a couple of episodes of the Batman Cartoon, but not too much. People either didn't know about her, or if they did had no desire to see something that totally deviates from the comic. Hopefully they'll reconsider the horrid Jack Black GL movie. The Marvel movies have been done well, has DC ever put out a really good movie besides the first Batman flick?

The first couple of Superman movies.
Oh, and HELLBOY has been with Dark Horse from the very beginning. I have the first mini.

You must mean the 66 Batman movie, as it's way cooler and more fun than the newer ones. They showed a preview for the Cat movie in front of Spidey, I don't think it helped.

Ugh, considering Catwoman looks like a porno star. Pleh, I won't be seeing this movie.

I think the general audience is aware that the film was veering too far away from the source material.People are very familiar with the BATMAN mythos like SUPERMAN,since they've been around for about the same time.Plus the idea of someone being reincarnated by cats is beyond FARFETCHED.The critics blasted the film and people rightly stayed away.I'm wondering who'll take the heat for the flop.Berry will most likely land on her feet[bad pun?]due to her oscar win but Sharon Stone will probably not be given any more good parts in good movies for awhile.

I'll be surprised if I even watch this movie on free-TV when the day comes. That crappy FF film looks better in comparison .

I remember reading a news article in which Sharon Stone criticized the Bush administration for making the country more conservative so that they couldn't work a kissing scene between her and Halle Berry into the plot. hehehe
Did you see the movie Megs? I've considered putting myself through it for my Female Fighters February at the site.
