Was watching it on TCM again tonight for like the umpteenth billionth time. You know after so many viewings the technical flaws due to the primitiveness of the fx in those days really begins to hurt the film.
Of course today I finally noticed the sailor who gets "eaten" by the apatosaur shows up a few minutes later just to die on the log! How'd that happen? He have a twin?Of course there is also the african native who loses his afro jumping out of a hut during Kong's attack revealing a baldin white skinned forehead. How many of you ever catch that one?Man it isn't a good idea to see that movie too many times.

that is one reason i don't watch many of my favorite movies a lot, they lose their specialness.
i did just get a nice DVDr of KING KONG from the OOP LD from a few years back. it'll do until the legit DVD gets released, which of course i will buy (and i know something about it that's a secret!).
it's a great movie, flaws and all.

I was simply stating that what I could have overlooked before now becomes even more apparant to the naked eye.Seeing that film one too many times is overkill.

By the way, movie that should've been made KING KONG VS THE LOST IN SPACE CYCLOPS

it's not that, but i am sworn to secrecy about it. and i gotta have some standards, and not telling right now is one of them. as soon as i can, i'll let you know. i know, i'm being mysterious, but it's so good, it will be worth this wait if it is panning out. i do think so, since the source was pretty good!
wow, the "second" ending to KKVSG would be cool, wouldn't it?

I would like to see the spider carvern scene very much. I saw a still of it in Famous Monsters once, and have been curious ever since...
Once they published a still of Kong fighting the Stegosaurus, I think this was just a publicity still...to my knowledge no such scene was ever filmed...
Now, the Triceratops chase, I do not know about. What scene is this?

Supposedly the reason the sailors run onto the log isn't because they are being chased by the apatasaur, they are being chased by a triceratops.
i believe the don glut book CLASSIC MOVIE MONSTERS has a pic of the log scene where the triceratops is visible at the far right.
In the book Kong actually fights three triceratopsesesesesese and nails them pretty good with boulders.
as for kong fighting a stego, that's news to me.
But what secret does Megaloman conceal?I'll have to send my ninja henchmen to ring it out of him.

Actually since I was rather put off by RETURN OF THE KING I'm not too eager to see what Peter Jackson does with Kong, especially if the cast is the same as has been reported.Jack Black as Denham? Please spare me.

Megs! Yer killin us! But I understand if you're sworn to secrecy. I just can't wait to have my KONG on disk. It tasks me. It tasks me and I shall have it! I did just that Amph and it looks cool. Thanks for posting the pics. Jumpin Jack Black, it's a gas. Well, probably not. I'm not expecting much from the 21st Century Schizoid Kong. I'll take the tried and true any day:

trust me, it will be great. and yeah, i'm not expecting lots from the new movie, really. i'm still not sure why anyone would want to remake it, why can't Jackson just make his OWN giant monster movie? That's because some people today just don't want to bother watching on old B/W film with stop-motion. I'm constantly amazed at this fear regarding older movies. And sadly, Jackson is actually feeding their minds saying such things as "I want to update it for today's generation". I, myself won't pass judgment until I see the movie, but I do find it ridiculous that some have already declared it better (!) than the original, without A) Having yet to watch a single footage of it and B) Having never seen the original! Believe me, I've seen posts like that elsewhere. As for David’s secret, well, I guess we will have to see if there are any “leaks” coming out so that we could decipher it for ourselves!

I really hope it is a Fay Wray interview or commentary, but that couldn't be, could it?
I was saddened to hear that she didn't do the cameo for the Jackson film.
