KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS (1977)
You'd think the lady scientist would know that spiders are arachnids not insects. Apparently all the scorpions (which eat spiders) had died out.

LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF. Sort of a followup to CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF. Not as well made and with a lesser budget than the original however it does have Peter Cushing as a rather tongue in cheek forensic investigator and it is a bit more bloody and violent than CURSE. The makeup for the werewolf seems to imitate the one from CURSE though not as well developed undoubtedly due to the budget constraints.

HANDS OF A MURDERER (1990)
The casting was all wrong, Edward Woodward (The Equalizer) is simply not Sherlock Holmes and Anthony Andrews (The Scarlet Pimpernel) is not believable as a the math professor turned arch criminal, James Moriatry. The ending is completely predictable. Otherwise this isn't a bad movie.

I'm having a hard time imagining Robert Downey Jr as Holmes. I think he's a good actor, but can't imagine him in the role. Maybe he'll surprise us all. I'm watching the 1937 DICK TRACY serial. I'm not a huge Dick Tracy fan, but this is one of the better serials I've seen ever. Lots of action that makes sense instead of just being there to keep the pace fast. The cliffhangers are cool and there are a lot of good stunts throughout. Also this was the debut of the Lydeckers famous flying Wing that later got recycled in another excellent serial, THE FIGHTING DEVIL DOGS.
