Volume 19, disc 2:
Short summary: Antique shop is destroyed by the fire but Jeb surives by crawling out a window. He's glad the room is gone, he wants to stay human. Nicholas Blair appears to save the Leviathans from Jeb's blunders. He makes a new room. Angelique learns that Sky is a Leviathan and leaves him. Jealous of Barnabas love for Maggie, Angelique casts a love spell on Maggie and Quentin. Willie Loomis returns to town. Maggie is discovered to be working against the Leviathans and is locked in the tower room by Elizabeth and Amy. Jeb changes forms and tries to kill Maggie and Willie but a ghost scares him away. In human form Jeb tries to strangle Julia but a ghost scares him away again. Ghost destroys the Book before David can learn how to save Jeb from the spirits. Quentin tells Roger about the Leviathan plot. Bruno captures Chris and leaves a zombie to guard him until the full moon rises. He intendes to tell Jeb he's captured the werewolf but Jeb doesn't like the way Bruno look at him when Jeb talks about the ghost haunting him so Jeb beats up on Bruno. Bruno turns against Jeb and tricks him into entering the crypt with the werewolf, armed only with a pistol from which Bruno has removed the silver bullets.
More detailed description: Megan discovers the fire and shouts a warning to Jeb, who escapes out a window. At the Old House, Julia has re-started the anti-vampire injections. Barnabas and Jeb exchange threats. Megan is jealous of Jeb and Carolyn's growing relationship. Megan visits Philip in jail and pretends that she still loves him and would run away with him if he could get out of jail. In his cell Philip hears the sound of flapping wings then Barnabs appears in his cell. Barnabas warns Philip that Megan is not Jeb's hostage to keep Jeb inline but is Jeb's willing slave and worshipper.
Now living in another one of the meriad of cottages on Collins land, Jeb does not want Megan to concecrate a new room for him, he likes his new adult human form, does not want to revert to his true form again. Jeb kisses Megan. There is thunder and lighting. The lights go out. The window blows upon the door. Nicholas Blair appears claiming that he has been watching and is here now to safe the Leviathans from Jeb and Megan's blunders. Blair sends Megan away. Blair is upset that Jeb is sacrificing one of their own (by having Philip confess to three murders which will result in his being hung), but Jeb's greatest blunder was turning Barnabas Collins into a vampire, making him not only usless to the Leviathans but a dangerous foe. Jeb's greatest sin is wanting to be human. Blair demands the Box or he'll make Carolyn run from Jeb in terror. Blair intends to concerate the room. When Jeb tries to leave the cottage Blair has magically moved from the back room to the doorway of the cottage, blocking Jeb's escape. He claims that even in his true form Jeb cannot kill him. After Jeb enters the room, against his will, Bruno shows up. Turns out he told Blair where Jeb was.
At Collinwood, where Megan is now residing, Megan learns that Carolyn is afraid to go to sleep because of a dream about Jeb having blood on his hands. Megan does go to sleep and has the dream. This time Jeb vanishes and Carolyn returns to the room with the body, but finds herself at a cemetary. A coffin opens on its own. Its empty. Carolyn look for the head stone to see who should have been in the coffin. She screams. The name on the head stone is Paul Stoddard.
Blair leaves Bruno in the cottage ordering him to make sure there are no more killings while Philip is in jail. The thing in the room nearly kills Bruno, but Jeb regains control. Jeb never wants to be it again, he wants to be human (because he's in love). Bruno, the fool, wants to be what Jeb is when he's in the room. Since Blair is not there to stop him, Jeb is able to run out of the cottage.
Jeb shows up at Collinwood and learns about the dream. Megan gives Carolyn a sleeping pill and sends her back to bed. Jeb digs up Paul Stoddard's coffin. Megan meets Jeb at the cemetary. When they open the coffin, Paul's body is in it, his eyes are wide open as if he's looking at Jeb, his mouth is open in a silly grin. Jeb wants to burn the body, thinking that will stop Paul's spirit from haunting Carolyn's dreams.
Megan reports to Nicholas Blair that Jeb burned Paul Stoddard's body. Blair says that won't stop the spirit from go after Jeb. He promises not to let Jeb be hurt. After Blair leaves a flapping sound is heard. We don't see the bat but Barnabas appears. He bites Megan making her his devoted slave. She is to try to find away to destroy Jeb. Jonathan stumbles on his lines saying "who can destroy him" then corrects it to "how to destroy him" proving that even if Barnabas has forgotten that Jeb was terrorfied of the werewolf, Jonathan hasn't. Megan reveals to Barnabas that it was Skylar who betrayed him to Jeb.
Skylar receives an important phone call and wants Angelique to meet someone important to their future. Before the meeting, Angelique has a visit from Barnabas who informs her that her husband is a Leviathan. Skylar's meeting is of course with Nicholas Blair. The witch and the sorcerer are shocked to meet each other. After Angelique confronts her husband, Blair orders him to destroy her with fire. He goes after her with a fireplace poker but she's able to stop him using a statuette he gave her as a gift and scarf. He puts the flaming poker in the bedroom fireplace. Angelique is so angry that she pulls the scarf tighter, Sky falls to the floor.
Barnabas has a nocturnal meeting with Maggie, giving her Josette's ring. He struggles against the urge to bite her and almost fails but Quentin appears just in time. Barnabas sends Maggie back inside Collinwood. Quentin escorts Barnabas back to the Old House. Julia has not been able to locate the missing Willie Loomis so Quentin is going to take a turn at guarding Barnabas during the day. Angelique shows up and Quentin lets her in. Sky shows up. He wants his wife to return and to become a Levithan, she wants him to defy the Leviathans. Both refuse. Sky leaves, Barnabas appears, Angelique hugs him. Learning that Nicholas Blair is back, Barnabas fears for Maggie Evans and leaves to warn her. Angelique follows. She sees Barnabas hug Maggie. Later, Quentin tries to warn Maggie to stay away from Barnabas. Angelique, once again betrays Barnabas and in the same manner, she casts a love spell on Maggie and Quentin. Their hands are marked with a trident symbol. With only eyes for each other, they do not notice Amy walking into the room. She hears Quentin warning Maggie not to let Jeb suspect that she is not one of them. The tridents vanish, Maggie and Quentin are now embarassed at their behaivor and no longer have the same feelings.
Amy tells Elizabeth that Maggie is working against them. After Quentin leaves, Elizabeth asks Maggie to help her take some books down from the tower room. Elizabeth locks Maggie in the room. As Amy is leaving to alert Jeb, she meets Willie Loomis who not finding anyone at the Old House came to Collinwood. Willie is engaged to be married. Amy claims to be going to get her bicycle but when Willie sees her in the woods he's worried about her and follows her, back to Collinwood. He overhears Amy and Elizabeth talking about Maggie being locked in a room. He sneaks into the house but can't find Maggie, until he follows Amy to the tower room. He unlocks the door and goes in. Amy, who knew he was there all along, locks him in as well. Elizabeth feels sorry for Willie since he'll never have the new life he was planning. Willie and Maggie hear heavy breathing from outside the door. The lights go out, the door starts to give. The breathing stops. Jeb Hawkes screams in terror and runs away. The key in the lock turns itself. Maggie and Willie are free.
Julia gives Barnabas a injection, she's been doing so for a week but Barnabas notices no change. Maggie and Willie show up to tell what happened. Julia takes Maggie upstairs to put her to bed. Barnabas tells Willie that he is a vampire once again. Learning that Willie has a womwn who loves him, Barnabas tries to send him away but Willie can't leave his friends in danger. Julia returns to Collinwood determined to find out who in the house is helping them, she doesn't believe its a ghost. As she approaches the tower rob, Jeb grabs her and tries to strangle her but is again driven away.
Roger and Quentin finally meet. Amy finds and plays Quentin's favorite record (by the way that song did not originate with Doctor Shadows but was written for another Dan Curtis production) based on Quentin's reaction she is more sure that he is the same Quentin that haunted her and David. David decides to consult the Book on how to protect Jeb from the spirit that is now haunting him. Just as he is about to read how to dispel the spirit the lights go out. Amy lights a candle for the wheelchair bound David but the candle goes out. She gets a flashlight for David but the blook flies off the desk. As Amy reaches down to the floor to pick up the book the book bursts into flames.
Roger has finaly noticed that his family has changed. He goes to see Barnabas but finds Quentin instead. Quentin decides to take a change on telling Roger what's happening. Roger wants to take David away but Quentin says "they" would kill Roger to keep David and if they couldn't keep David then they'd kill him.
Unable to reach Jeb by phone, David sends Elizabeth to tell Jeb about the book. Left alone in his room, David has a ghostly encounter. The lights go out, the room becomes cold. The door opens itself. A body is hanging from the ceiling, all the camera shows is the legs. Bruno appears, the lights come back on. There is no body, but Bruno believes David. Bruno gets a Collins family history but can't find anything helpful. As he tries to leave David's room he is nearly strangled to death by the ghost.
Carolyn takes Sabrina to have hair done, now she has short brown hair instead of shaggy white hair. Sabrina wants to marry Chris but he won't but her in danger. Roger and Jeb have a confrontation, Jeb threatnes Roger's family if Roger tries anything. Bruno breaks into Chris' cottage and takes him prisoner at gun point. He takes Chris to the abandoned crypt and places the zombie sheriff on guard, armed with a pistol loaded with 6 silver bullets. Bruno goes to Jeb's cottage but before Bruno can tell Jeb that he's caught the werewolf Jeb attacks him because he sees contempt in Bruno's eyes when Bruno realises that Jeb is afraid of ghosts. Jeb has concluded that the ghost haunting him is not Paul Stoddard.
Barnabas summons Megan. He learns that Jeb doesn't know where the missing Chris is. Barnabas wants her to go back to Jeb to find out where Bruno is but she wont go so he bites her again, which is what she wanted.
Bruno turns against Jeb. He goes to the crypt arriving just in time to stop the zombie from shooting the werewolf. Then he whips the werewolf to make it really mad. He hits it too hard and it passes out. He tells the zombie to unchain the unconscious werewolf then hurry out but then locks the crypt door behind him so the zombie can't get out.
Jeb suddenly realises that he hasn't heard any holwing and concludes that the werewolf is not around. He leaves the cabin to go see Carolyn. Megan returns to the cabin looking for Jeb but finds Bruno instead. Weak from lose of blood she faints. Bruno finds the vampire bites on her neck but decides not to do anything about it, he will use her if his plan with the werewolf failes. He removes the silver bullets from Jeb's gun, replacing them with ordinary bullets. He wakens Megan and sends her home to Collinwood, but of course she goes to the Old House. She reports that Bruno knows nothing about the werewolf but Barnabas suspects that Bruno is lying. Bruno phones Jeb to report capturing the werewolf. Jeb meets Bruno at the crypt. He wants Bruno to kill the werewolf but Bruon says that should be Jeb's honor so after taking the gun with ordinary bullets, Jeb enters the crypt and is attacked by the werewolf.

Highlights of volume 19 disc 3 which sees the end of the Leviathan plot and the revelation of what happened to Victoria Winters in 1796 (poor Vicky):
Bruno left the silver tipped whip in the crypt so Jeb survived the werewolf attack. Bruno convinced Jeb that it was Megan, under the orders of Barnabas, who switched ordinary bullets for the silver bullets. Bruon of course wants Megan dead so she can't confince Jeb that Bruno is in fact the traitor, but Jeb accepts that its his fault she's a victim of a vampire. . Unable to trust anyone living Jeb calls forth four new zombies (the sheriff having been dismembered by the werewolf). Their first task is to dig 5 graves. Graves for: Barnabis Collins, Quentin Collins, Roger Collins, Willie Loomis and Julia Hoffman.
Spying through a window Jeb learns that Julia is trying to cure Barnabas from being a vampire. The injections are not working, and Barnabas bites Megan once too often. Barnabas and Julia prepare a stake but Megan's body has vanished.
Jeb sends his zombies to abduct Julia. At the carriage house Julia meets Jeb as he really is but he doesn't kill her. He wants her to make him trully human. She agrees on the conditon that Jeb "leave Barnabas Collins alone". Jeb sends Sky to question Elizabeth and Megan's disappearance. Sky is threatened by a sword wielding Quentin and gives away Julia's location and the password to get past the guards. Quinton leave Roger guarding Sky but Roger is distracted by Megan appearing at the window. Sky escapes from Roger only to become Megan's first (?) victim. Quinton is captured by the zombies and buried alive.
Maggie shows up at the Old House with a sense that Quentin is in mortal peril. Nicholas Blair shows up at the carriage house to put an end to the experirment, sending Julia away. Maggie leads Barnabas to Quentin's grave, saving Quentin's life. Blair demands that Jeb bring Carolyn to the carriage so the ceremony can take place right away. Jeb gets Carolyn to come to the carriage then goes off to see Julia. Blair hypnotises Carolyn and having the zombies take her to the Leviathan Altar he attempts to force Jeb and her to go through a ceremony that would make Carolyn like Jeb but Jeb cries out "Barnabas now!" Baranabs grabs Carolyn and Jeb smashes the Leviathan Box. Blair pushes Jeb away from the altar just before its destroyed. Jeb thinks he's free from the Leviathans but he hits the ground in agony. He recovers quickly, but Blair tells him that he's destroyed everything, incuding his true self. He claims the human form of Jeb will only last as long as Jeb has the willpower to exist. Bruno discovers that Jeb's room is on fire and that all the zombies have turned into unmoving skeletons. Barnabas takes Carolyn to Collinwood and when he tries to turn Elizabeth from the Leviathan cause he realises that she has no idea what he's talking about.
Jeb asks Carolyn to marry him and go away with him. She agrees but while getting ready falls alseep. In her new dream, she's marrying Jeb. The ceremony is performed by Blair who recites the same words as in the ceremony by the Leviathan altar. Barnabas appears to ask if Jeb has told her that Jeb killed her father. Jeb then strangles Carolyn. Carolyn talks with Jeb who gives her two ours to get ready.
After Carolyn leaves the ghost finally reveals itself. Its not Paul Stoddard. Peter Bradford appears. In 1796 Jeb Hawkes drove Victoria Winters into commiting suicide by jumping off Widow's Peak, so Peter Bradford pushed Jeb Hawkes off the same cliff, after learning that a Leviathan could die from drowning. Peter Bardford was then hung for Jeb's murder. Bradford's ghost can't kill Jeb again by itself but he promises Jeb that someone living will do it for him.
Megan visits her husband in jail. He's confused, can't understand why he confessed to three murders. She bites him. Later, he has a second supernatural visitor, Peter Bradford. Jeb phones Carolyn to change their meeting time but doesnt make it. He faints and the ghost resets his clock. Carolyn wonders were Jeb is and goes looking for him. Jeb recovers and goes to get Carolyn but she isn't home. The ghost claims she's at Widow's Hill (not true). Jeb goes to Widows Hill, where Philip attempts to push him off the cliff. Philip falls to his death and Jeb gets away. Angelique appears and after promising that Jeb Hawkes will pay for his misdead, including destroing Angelique's happiness, she banishes the ghost of Peter Bradford.
Angelique terrorizes Jeb with a magical shadow which she promises him will grow and grow until its large enough to destroy him. Jeb and Carolyn get married. Barnabas has a vist from Sky. Sky wants Barnabas to find his wife because he needs her help to free him from Megan. Barnabas has a better idea and asks where Megan's coffin is. Sky says it was at the crypt but that she moved it to a room in the unnused east wing of Collinwood.
Mr and Mrs Hawkes leave on their honeymoon. Barnabas and Julia agree that before he destroys Megan with a stake to the heart that he should offer a possible cure in the form of Julia's injections. While Julia accompanies Elizabeth to the carriage house, to check on the fire damage, Barnabas searches the east wing of Collinwood. He doesn't find Megan's coffin instead he finds a room in which he sees a climpse of a parallel universe. The Julia and Elizabeth of this parallel time talk about someone having died. Elizabeth wants to remove the dead woman's things but Julia won't let her. Later when Barnabas shows the room Julia its just an empty room. They find Megan but she refuses the treatment.
In the woods between the Old House and Collinwood, Roger becomes Megan's third victim. Barnabas asigns Willie the task of destroying Megan one they find out which room her coffin is in. Barnabas returns to the room and sees the alternate Julia and Elizabeth again. A portrait is uncovered...of Angelique. Barnabas wants in the room but can't enter it and Elizabeth, who can't see or hear him closes the doors on him. Barnabas follows Roger to Megan's coffin. He doesn't do anything. Later, Willie hits Roger over the head before staking Megan.
Barnabas goes to the room again. This time he sees Willie looking for his book. Julia toses the book through the doorway and Barnabas is able to pick it up. Instead of reading the title from the face of the book which would be the natural thing to do, he holds the book so the camera sees the face while he reads the title, outloud, from the spine: "The Life and Death of Barnabas Collins".
Interview with Chris Pennock who still sounds like Jeb Hawkes, 'though of course he looks nothing like him. He talks about how skilled the other actors on the show were. He is still acting, in stage plays.

Volume 19, disc 4, highlights (final conclusion of the Leviathan storyline and introduction of parallel time plot:
Barnabas becomes more and more obssessed with the parallel time after reading in the book that the other Barnabas married Josette, fathered children and died. I don't understand why he wants to cross into that time but he does. Willy and Professor Stokes both try to warn him against it.
Jeb keeps seeing the shadow. Finally realising that he can't run from it he takes Carolyn back to Collinsport. She sees the shadow too.
Burno and Nicholas plan to revenge themselves on Jeb by having the werewolf kill Carolyn so Jeb will have no reason to live but Roger is able to recue Carolyn before Chris transforms and once changed Chris is able to escape on his own. Bruno decides to kill Carolyn himself but the werewolf, probably remembering the whipping Jeb gave him, finds the two of them in the woods and pushing Carolyn out of way, attacks Bruno. Carolyn flees. Roger finds Bruno and see him die before he can summon a doctor.
Barnabas also tells Roger about the room. Roger sees the alternate versions of Bruno (after the Bruno he knew is dead), Elizabeth and most disturbing of all, himself.
After Bruno's violent death the police search his cottage, freeing Sabrina and Sky. In the morning, Chris makes his way home. Sabrina is releaved but he refuses to discuse marriage. Julia's injections backfire, instead of curing Barnabas they make him more thirsty for blood. When Sabrina comes calling Barnabas is unable to control himself, he bites her. She makes it back to Chris who tries to reach Julia but Julia, Roger and Elizabeth are in the East Wing, so Quenton goes to Chris' cottage. Quentin is angry with Barnabas for biting Sabrina.
Angelique has a meeting with Nicholas. They taunt each other. He claims he still has one loyal follower left, her husband. Later, a desperate Jeb asks Barnabas for help. Barnabas asks Angelique to left the curse from Jeb for Carolyn's sake. While Angelique meets with Jeb alone, Barnabas takes Quenton to the room. They see a very different Jeb and the alternate Chris, who manages the Collins estate for Quentin.
Angelique tells Jeb that she can't remove the shadow, but he can, by placing the cut out of a shadow over the heart of another. She wants him to use it on Nicholas Blair. Jeb goes to see Nicholas. The shadow kills Blair but Blair's spirit tell Sky to get revenge.
Jeb thinks he's free and makes plans to leave town with Carolyn but Nicholas Blair's voice taunts him saying that the dead will not let Jeb leave.
In the room, Roger sees a woman who looks like Carolyn and a boy who looks like David but is named Daniel and is the son of Quentin and Angelique.
Blair's ghost gives Carolyn a dream of the future, she sees Sky push Jeb off Windows Hill. Wakening, Carolyn hurries to Widow's Hill. Sky is there. He tells her that Nicholas Blair didn't show her the entire prophecy, he left out her own death. The episode ends with Sky starting to strangle Carolyn but in the next episode he drags her to the edge of the cliff to throw her off instead. Jeb arrives to save her but goes over himself. Barnabas visits Sky. Sky tries to shoot him but with a gun with ordinary bullets. Barnabas turns the gun on Sky to make Sky's death look like suicide. Jeb's body is not found, the police theory is that it was washed out to sea.
Barnabas enters the room in the east wing, which is empty...then sudddenly it isn't empty. Julia followes Barnabas but can't enter the room. Although she can see and hear Barnabas he cannot see or her her. The woman who looks like Carolyn comes up behind Barnabas and asks who "are you and how did you get in this room?" Barnabs bites Mrs. Loomis. The Loomis' live in the Old House, so Barnabas plans to hide out there.
Quentin Collins returns home with a new wife. The housekeeper has prepared supper but not in the dinning room, in the drawing room where Angelique liked to have her meals. And she served Angeliques favorites. The new Mrs. Collins likes the idea too but Quentin is horrified and runs out of the house. The new Mrs. Collins finds a note, slid under the door, "You are not wanted here, now or ever" its signed "Angelique".
Dark Shadows previously borrowed from the novels Dracula and Frankenstein and the films Bride of Frankenstein and The Wolfman. Now its doing the novella Rebecca.
In the parallel time: Quentin Collins is master of Collinwood Angelique, daughter of Timothy Stokes, married Quentin Collins. They have a son Daniel (and daughter Amy?) Angelique died. Quentin married a woman who grew up in Collinwood but moved to England, Maggie Evans Julia Hoffman arrived at Collinwood with Angelique and stayed on after Angelique's death as house keeper Carolyn is married to William Loomis, a famous author Elizabeth and Roger depend on an allowance from Quentin, having lost all their own money in bad investments Bruno is composer/pianist

Volume 20, disc 1:
Short version: Barnabas is stuck inside his coffin, a cross on the inside of the lid and chains rapped around the outside, so he is not aware of what is happening to the Collins family of this parallel universe. The late Angelique Collin's twin sister Alexis Stokes shows up at Collinwood. Maggie and Quentin have an argument over Alexis, and Maggie leaves town (goes to her sister in NY). Everyone but Quentin thinks Alex IS Angelique returned from the dead. Maggie and Amy are terrified of her. Bruno, the composer who wrote songs for her, is in love with Angelique and refuses to believe that Alexis is not her. Scientist Cyrus Longworth wants to benefit mankind by removing the evil side of human nature with chemicals. The night after Cyrus drinks his experimental drug, a stranger assaults Sabrina and steals the engagement ring Cyrus had given her.
Longer version: Quentin returns home, he and his bride spend the night in their new room. In the morning he leaves for work at the cannery. William Loomis meets Barnabas and is told the same old story, that he's a decendent of the original Barnabas. William meets Maggie and warns her not to trust Hoffman. Maggie over hears Hoffman talking to someone but doesn't see who it is. After another feeding by Barnabas, Carolyn colapses and William sees the fang marks. Using crosses he takes Barnabas prisoner with the intent of using the vampire from another time as the subject of his next book.
Quentin introduces his wife to his cousin Chris Collins. Learning from Chris that Bruno is on the estate, Quentin orders the man removed from the property. Quentin introduces his son Daniel and cousin Amy (sister to Chris) to his wife. Even before he met her, Daniel determined to hate his step-mother and plots to drive her out of the house. He bullies Amy into helping him. Daniel falls for his own trap, when a voice is heard humming in Angelique's room even though Amy was stopped from hiding behind wall in the secret room. Maggie believe it a childish prack but Daniel is convinced his mother was singing to him.
Hoffman suggests that Maggie can win over Daniel buy doing little things for him, such as replacing his favorite record which has been broken. This was of a course a trick to get Maggie to make a blunder that would turn Quentin against her. It fails, it makes him angry at Miss Hoffman. Maggie is deterimed to make every one accept that she is mistress of Collinwood until she sees Quentin talking to a woman who appears to be Angelique and runs up the stairs in shock. The woman is actually Alexis Stokes, Angelique's twin.
Chris meets with his friend Henry Jekyll, oops I mean Cyrus Longworth [same actor as Jeb]. Chris is very worried about the chemist who has been reading works on black magic and working on a chemical forumla to seperate the good and evil in humans. Angelique was financing the experiments. Chris refuses to give Cyrus the name of the chemist he needs. [Ironically, I was just thinking "they've done Dracula and Frankenstein and the Wolfman but not Jekyll and Hyde"]
Hoffman mistakes Alexis for Angelique as well, but it pleased to see her. Quentin and Maggie have an argument leading to Maggie running out of the house and driving off. Alexis declines Quentin's invitation to borrow a car in the morning so she can go into town to visit her father. Alexis heads up to bed. A blood curdling scream takes Quentin into the hall. Its Amy. She insits that Alexis is Angelique.
Cyrus wants Bruno to steal Angelique's address book. Quentin tries to kick Bruno out of the cottage but Bruno has a deed apparently signed by Angelique which grants him possession of the cottage. Even though he's not wanted at Collinwood, Bruno goes to meet Alexis. Amy, who continues to believe its Angelique, lets him in. Bruno takes Angelique's addressbook. After meeting Alexis, Bruno returns to the cottage and begins to check on her story and how and when she entered the United States, from Italy. [Seems like everyone but Quentin believes Alexis Stokes is really Angelique Collins.]
Bruno tries to seduce Cyrus' assistant Sabrina, but she's not interested in Bruno. Chemist Horace Gladstone delievers the chemical Cyrus ordered personally and warns Cyrus about carrying on experiements that could leave to knowledge best left unknown. Bruno learns that no ships from Genoa docked in New York during the entire week that Alexis was supposed to have arrived. Cyrus and Sabrina get engaged. Bruno attempts to break into Angelique's tomb but is caught by Quentin and Alexis. Later, Bruno sneaks into Alexis' room. Believing that she is Angelique he tells her that he loves her. She has Quentin kick him out.
Gladstone breaks into Cyrus' lab, is caught and kicked out. Later, Cyrus drinks his experimental drug. The next moring Cyrus finds an IOU for $100 signed by a John Yager. Cyrus knows no such person and has no memory of the night that just passed. A police detective shows up at his lab. Sabrina was assulated by a strange man (he also stole her engagment ring). The man was seen entering Cyrus' home but not seen existing. Cyrus showed the police a third door they did not know about and reported that although he locked it at midnight it was wide open in the morning. The stranger is broad shouldered, well dressed and has a moustach. Carolyn has been watching over Sabrina. Cyrus finds the ring in his own pocket. He gives Sabrina seditive then sends Carolyn home. William threatens Carolyn if she attempts to release Barnabas. William goes to meet Alexis this disturbs Carolyn because William was obssessed with Angelique. Sabrina has a nightmare about the attack. When Carolyn looks in on Sabrina, she finds her bed empty. Carolyn goes to find Cyrus and chastises him for leaving Sabrina alone. Sabrina has reverted back six months, she thinks its the night Angelique planned a seance, the night Angelique died of a stroke. Cyrus talks to some quack pyschiatrist who suggests reinacting the seance. Quentin is opposed to it but allows it to take place without him. At the seance are Sabrina, Elizabeth, Roger, Cyrus, Bruno and standing in for Angelique, Alexis. A chair is placed where Quentin originally sat. Sabrina points at Alexis and says "She's dying. Can't you see that she is dying? Murder Murder!" Alexis colapses. Afterwards Sabrina says that the spirits told her that Angelique was murderered. She asks Cyrus if he did it. He denies it claiming to be a gentleman who loaths evil, she says he loaths evil because he knows he's fascinated by it.
Daniel meets Alexis and of course mistakes her for his mother. Cyrus goes to the bar and learns about the bix man who bought a full bottle of scotch, drank half of it, getting meaner with each shot. Daniel has a dream in which his mother appears outside his window. She laughs at him. When he wakes shouting, "Mother, don't laugh at me". His aunt Alexis comes in the room to comfort him. He gets her to promise never to lie to him then asks "You really are my mother aren't you?" she's about to answer when the camera pulls back to show Quentin standing in the doorway watching and listening.

Dark Shadows volume 20, disc 2:
This is going to be shorter than usual due to getting a new computer and forgetting to save longer version to flash drive so I could transfer it to new system.
Opening narration of each episode reminds the audience that Barnabas entered a paralel time stream and got trapped in a coffin, so that he has no idea what frightening things have been happening to the people of this alternate time. This is the most time off Jonathan Frid has had since he joined the series.
Hannah Stokes (new actress), aunt to Angelique and Alexis, attempts to determine if the woman at Collinwood is really Alexis but her spell is blocked by an uncooperative spirit. She is only able to determine that Angelique is at Collinwood but not what form she has taken.
Collinwood is haunted by Dameon Edwards, a man apparently murdered by Bruno. The ghost does not speak to anyone in the house but does eventually speak to Bruno in the cottage. He wants Bruno dead. I don't recognise Dameon Edwards, I don't think he's been in the series before.
Mr. Trask, Quentin's butler, who has been out of town returns to Collinwood just after the ghost. Seems Trask was involved in the murder too. Quentin sends Amy to stay with William and Carolyn until he can get rid of the ghost but she returns to Collinwood because something about the Loomis House frightens her. Daniel, Roger, Hoffman and Elizabeth are apparently out of town.
Cyrus drinks his potion. His alter ego (same actor but with black wig, obviously fake nose and moustache) attacks and nearly kills a man, to escape the police he returns to the lab and becomes Cyrus again.
Quentin (now supicious of Alexis) and Cyrus open Angelique's coffin because Quentin wants to be sure she's in it. She is but does not look like she's been dead for six months. Alexis goes to the coffin, alone, to apologise to her twin for having to agree with Quentin and Cyrus that her body must be burnt. Alexis touches Angelique, which is what the dead woman's spirit was waiting for. Angelique comes back to life, killing Alexis and placing her body in the coffin. Quentin and Cyrus burn what they think is the body of Angelique. While waiting in the drawing room at Collinwood Cyrus suddenly changes. End of episode, end of disc.

Chris Jennings partner a Mr. Chase takes a document to John Yaeger at the Eagle tavern. The document would open a bank account in John Yaeger's name, with Cyrus Longworth's money. After meeting Yaeger, Chase tears up the contract, certain that he can talk the scientist into having no further dealings with this evil man. When Chase meets with Cyrus his client orders him to open that bank account. Cyrus also wants his will changed to leave everything to John Yaeger, in the avent of Cyrus' death or disappearance. Gladstone, the chemist visits the barmaid at her apartment and recognizes the painting from Longworth's lab. At the lab, Gladstone tells the scientist that he's dicovered that "Cyrus Longworth is John Yaeger and John Yaeger is Cyrus Longworth". Gladstone demands $10,000 to keep quiet and to continue producing the chemicals Cyrus needs. In case John Yaeger should become violent, Gladstone has written everything down and arranged for the documents to be sent to some one close to Cyrus if anything happens to Gladstone.
"Alexis" tells Quentin that her aunt banished the ghost and takes Quentin to the skeleton in the cellar. Angelique spends the day with her son but lets him think she is his aunt. She doesn't reveal herself to Julia either. Quentin and Cyrus bury the bones. Quentin tellls Cyrus about the room he could not enter. Cyrus thinks Quentin needs a vacation. Quentin returns to the room and hears Elizabeth and Dr. Hoffman talking about the disappearance of Barnabas into parallel time. After Elizabeth leaves Julia hoping that Barnabas is standing in the doorway listening talks to him. She's concerned that someone in that other time may have learned about the curse. Quentin tries to call to her. His Julia appears behind him, answering his call. He asks her to look into the room, buts back to what is normal in this time.
Somehow the portrait of Barnabs ended up in Quentin's study and Trask hung it in the hall. When Daniel sees it it he's taken over by Barnabas who leads Daniel to the Loomis house but Daniel is caught trying to break into the basement by his father. Daniel faints. When he awakes he remembers nothing. Alexis is overly concerned about Daniel but Quentin doesn't notice, just as he doesn't notice that she and Hannah have suddenly gotten close. Angelique attempts to enter her room but finds it changed. She sees the other Julia and hears her say "Barnabas". Learning this Quentin is pleased to know that his not imagining things. Quentin, "Alexis" and Hoffman hold a seance to contact the long dead Barnabas Collins. They get Jonathan, his father, instead. Jonthan warns Quentin that a great evil has disturbed the dead that Quentin must find this thing that is both dead and alive and destroy it, but he can't say what form it will take so Quentin doesn't know what to look for. Roger returns home.
Cyrus refuses to pay blackmail. Gladstone says he'll give him another 24 hours to think it over but then he phones Larry Chase to arrange a meeting. Chase gives Cyrus the will he wanted and when Cyrus invites him to dinner declains because he has a meeting with a Mr. Gladstone. John Yaeger murders Gladstone. Yaeger gives Miss Harrington a key to Cyrus' lab, the combination to the safe and sends her to get a bottle containg a green liquid. While he waits for her outside a cave under Collinwood, Yaeger finds a secret passage. He follows it to the cellar of the Loomis house, to Barnabas' coffin. Thinking that Loomis must be hidning something valuable, Yager removes the chains, but before he can open the lid, William Loomis sneaks up behind him to him over the head. John awakes to find Mrs. Loomis pointing a gun at him. He judges correctly that the won't pull the trigger, knocks the gun out of her hand an runs away to collect the drug. Using crosses William and Carolyn move Barnabas to a new hiding place.
Returning to his lab, Cyrus promises lawyer Chase that John Yaeger will never walk the streets of Collinsport again. William Loomis makes the mistake of turning his back on Barnabas as he writes his story, Barnabas comes up behind him, grabes the strip holding the cross, starts to strangle William. William falls to the floor, without the cross. Barnabas bearing his fangs moves towards William.
Interview with one of the writers, who thought that the parallel time episodes suffered from Dan Curtis not being around when they were planned, because he was working on the movies.

Volume 20, disc 4:
The 6th episode on this disc is b/w.
Short version: Barnabas bites William Loomis. Angelique, uses black magic to try to force Quentin to beg Maggie to come home, so Angelique can destroy Maggie, as a result Quentin nearly dies but Maggie does come to Collinwood. Julia recognises that Alexis is really Angelique and after getting over the fear of the dead walking, decides to help her. Barnabas fails in an attempt to bit Maggie. He succeeds in biting Buffy the barmaid.
Longer version:
After biting William Loomis, Barnabas forces Loomis to burn all his notes on the book. When Quentin shows up at the Loomis house and demands that William tell him all he knows about the mysterious Barnabas Collins, Barnabas steps in, introducing himself the great great grandson original Barnabas Collins (not from England this time). Quentin grants Barnabas permission to see the room. After Quentin leaves, Barnabas force William Loomis to take him to the grave of Barnabas Collins, he hopes to contact the spirit of the other Barnabas but instead he gets the author Joshua who refuses to let the dead members of his family be disturbed and warneds Barnabas to leave the cemetary and not return. At Collinwood, Quentin shows Barnabas the room. Julia is still there calling to Barnabas. Quentin accuses Barnabas of being the Barnabas the people in that room talk about, he denies it. After talking to Alexis, Barnabas leaves Collinwood. He wonders if that is really Alexis or could it be "the Angelique I know". Wanting to see the room alone, he vanishes (finally revealing that with the evil count's death the mark is gone from his hand and he has his powers back). Daniel finds Barnabas in Alexis' room. Daniel is afraid of Barnabas. Barnabas hypnotises him so he won't remember seeing him.
Quentin receives the portrait of Maggie which he commissioned on their honeymoon. Angelique wants Maggie back in Collinwood, so she can destroy her. Unable to convince Quentin to attempt once more to talk Maggie into returning, Angelique decides to use magic to force her will on him. Hannah warns Angelique that such a spell is dangerous. Angelique ignores the warning. After casting her spell, Angelique goes to see what effect it had on Quentin. Quentin picks up a knife and moves towards her. Quentin walks past Angelique to slash the portrait of Maggie [just as I expected]. He goes to see Cyrus who assures him he's not going mad. Cyrus is surprised to learn that a decendant of Barnabas is staying at the Loomis house, he almost let slip that as Yager he found a coffin in the cellar.
Suddenly overcome with the delusion that in slashing her portrait, he killed Maggie, Quentin attempts to hang himself, so that he can be with one that he loves. Angelique is reading the tarot cards when Julia comes in to move her out of the dangerous room. Angelique pretends not to believe in the cards but when she turns over the haning man she runs out of the room. She is able to save Quentin. Later, Julia brings her a wax figure. Angelique finally admits to Julia who she is, she describes how she felt the pain in the back of her neck tham nothing. She said it was like being asleep. A voice told her "someone will come". She did not tell Julia that she murdered Alexis. She says it was like some higher power wanted her to live again. Julia says that there will be a price to pay, someone will appear today demanding payment. Angelique says that Julia will help her to out wit him, whoever he is. Angelique hestitates to do anymore to Quentin through fear of losing him but Julia pushes her into using the doll and a pin. The plan is to make him sick so the family will send for Maggie. Elizabeth does in fact phone Maggie but Cyrus doesn't hold out much hope that Quentin will survive long enough for her to get there. Maggie is seen for the first time since she left Collinwood, in NY as she takes the phone call. Angelique casts another spell, with the same candels she used to banish the ghost, in the hoping of curing the illness she caused. Maggie arrives. When Quentin awakes he and sees her he demands that she be removed from the house but then he his mood swings again. The pain is gone and holding her he claims nothing will hurt them ever again.
Carolyn threatens to tell on Barnabas (tell whom I don't know, who would believe in vampires?) but Barnabas threatens to kill both her and her husband if she does. Afraid of what he'll do to Maggie, Barnabas has William use a cross to keep him in the secret room but when Maggie shows up at the Loomis house, Barnabas can hear her voice and his control breaks down. After Maggie leaves dogs howl. Barnabas totally loses it. William tries to hold him in with the cross, but Carolyn picks a lousy time to open the door, distracting her husband. Barnabas hits William over the head with his cane and goes out into the night. William recovers but isn't well enough to go warn Maggie so Carolyn sets out to do so. Barnabas finds Carolyn at the door to Collinwood but can't punish her because the door is being unlocked, so he hides in the bushes. Carolyn does not give him away. After Carolyn has left and Maggie has gone to bed a bat flies up to Maggie's window. Barnabas appears in the room. He fleas when the door starts to open. Its Julia. Maggie wakes and is not pleased to find Julia in her room. Julia claims she heard a prowler (a lie she didn't know Barnabas was there). Later Maggies tries to get Quentin to fire Julia but he refuses.
Not finding anything medically wrong with Quentin, Cyrus tells him that he thinks he has been a victim of black magic. That a doll stuck with a pin could be used to cause extreme pain. Later, Quentin finds a crude dull, in Maggie's suitcase. Maggie denies knowing anything about it. He seems to believe her.
While telling Maggie about her sister's murder, "Alexis" suddenly feels cold. She leaves the room and orders Julia to find someone or be the next victim herself. The door opens... it's Chris Jenning's partner. As William Loomis approaches the door to Collinwood he hears a scream. He enters without knocking to find "Alexis" standing over a dead man. He goes to find Cyrus. Cyrus is about to weaken and drink the potion when the phone rings. Later after he's taken the body away Will Loomis suggests that for once he do just what he wants to. Cyrus goes to Buffy's bursting in just after Barnabas has bitten her. Under Barnabas' spell, she claims she fainted out of fear when she saw a stranger outside her window.
Maggie asks her husband why he didn't tell her that his first wife was murdered. He says its because she wasn't. "Alexis" brings Maggie a bunch of fresh picked flowers. While Maggie is looking for a vase, Cyrus informs Quentin that Chase seems to have been frozen to death. Angelique freezes the flowers to death than asks surprised at how the flowers she picked and looked so beautiful in Maggie's hands could be dead so soon. After trying to turn Quentin against Magggie she sets out to turn Maggie against Quentin by suggesting that if she were a murderer she'd deny that a murder ever happened so whoever denies the murder must be the killer.
Barnabas tells Buffy to stay away from Cyrus but then after learning that Cyrus know John Yaeger better than anywone, reverses his order, telling her to find out all Cyrus knows. Apparently Barnabas could sense who was in the room with his coffin because now he is concerned about Yaeger knowing his secret. She doesn't learn anything. Cyrus continues to struggle against the desire to become Yaeger again.
Maggie has a dream in which Quentin strangles Angelique to death. [She was actually killed by magic, someone stabbed a doll in the back of the neck.]

Collection 21, disc 1:
Cyrus has suddenly become obssessed with Maggie and as John Yaeger he attempts to force himself on her. She is saved by Buffy the barmaid. Cyrus finally recognizing that John Yaeger is evil smashes his equipment and burns his notes, in order to destroy John Yaager.
Quenton is annoyed to learn Elizabeth (egged on by Angelique) sent out invitations for the annual ball, Quentin did not intened to have it this year. "Alexis" contines to harp on how in love Quentin was with Angelique while pretending to be Maggie's friend. Maggie slips up and addresses Alexis as Angelique (from the frown she made I think she realized that she flubbed her lines). Roger who is not happy unless others are miserable, tells Maggie that this night is the anniversary of Quenton's marriage to Angelique and that Quenton is not home because he's somewhere remembering. Angelique causes Maggie to have a dream in which she finds a secret drawer in a table. When Maggie awakes she finds the table, opens the secret hiding place to find a bundle of letters. Quenton comes home and doesn't believe Maggie's story about a dream leading her to his love letters to Angelique. He thinks she snooped in every drawer, found Angelique's diary which told her how to open the secret campartment.
The next day, Quenton has calmed down. The moment I've been expecting since Julia first met the second Mrs Collins finally occured. "Alexis" tricked Maggie into wearing the dress Angelique wore at the last costume party. Quenton goes storming out of the house in a fury. Roger, who resents Maggie because he's obssessed with Angelique, tells Maggie that Quenton doesn't want her. Angelique decides to change tactics. She decides to haunt Maggie. First she phones her and laughs at her. Maggie recognises the voice as Alexis' and goes to Alexis room but finds "Alexis" in bed and her phone on the hook. "Alexis" claims that she and Angelique have the same voice. Later, Angelique appears to maggie in a spectral form and attempts to drive her to suicide, saying that without Quenton's love Maggie has no reason to live. Maggie is saved from jumping out a window by Elizabeth. Barnabas shows up looking for Quenton. Barnabas is beoming supicious of Alexis. Angelique is not worried because "after all he is just a human". This Angelique doesn't know he's a vampire. Staring into the eyes of Angelique's portraitr, Barnabas causes the real Angelique's eyes to burn. Rushing to the room to see who is doing this to her she finds Barnabas. He demands that she stop her plot to destroy Maggie and take Quenton. She refuses and warns Barnabas that if he tries to tell Quenton who she is he won't believe him. Barnabas believes her and does not tell Quenton when Quenton is coming in as he is going out.
Angelique realises that Barnabas can't be human but has no idea what he is. After Barnabas has left, "Alexis" phones her father (turns out to be step-father) asking him to come to Collinwood so she can tell him something about Angelique. Alexis and her step father never got along because loved Angelique not Alexis. Angelique reveals herself to him and he readily accepts her. When she tells him about the strange occurances in the room, he tells her about the theory of parallel time.
Quenton refuses to believe Maggie about hearing Angelique's voice. Barnabas finds Timothy Elliot Stokes in the Loomis house. Mr Stokes claims to be an old friend of William Loomis, possibly true but of course he was actually there so he could meet Barnabas. Barnabas momentarily shows recoginition of Stokes but when Stokes asks if they've met before Barnabas denies it.
The next day, Maggie goes to see Cyrus hoping he will be able convince Quenton to listen to her but Cyrus tells her to accept that Quenton isn't for her, that there must be someone else who can make her happy. She recognises that this isn't like Cyrus but he suddenly feeling pain, makes her leave. When Sabrina goes to check on him, she witnesses her transformation in John Yaeger. As Yaeger hides in a corner, Maggie and Quenton show up seperately looking for Cyrus.
That night Barnabas shows up at Collinwood but does not tell Quenton what he knows about Angelique. They leave the house together not knowing that John Yaeger has snuck in and is after Maggie. Daniel comes into Maggie's room to warn her that he saw a prowler. Maggie thinks he imagined it but goes with him to find Roger so he can search the house. The next day Daniel tells Maggie that he can sense when something strange is going to happen and he's sensing it now.
Yaeger admits to Sabrina that he killed Gladstone and threatens to kill her too. She wont betray him because she thinks he'll have to return to being Cyrus sometime. Yaeger finds a place in the country, to take Maggie to. When his landlord becomes to inquisitive, Yaeger murders the man. He phones Maggie pretending to be Cyrus and arranges to meet her at Widow's Hill at 11pm.
Barnabas tries to convince Quenton that Maggie did hear Angelique's voice but he won't listen. "Alexis" tells Quenton that Barnabas is against her. Angelique accues Barnabas of being from another time band. He denies it. Barnabas warns Maggie that there is someone in the house she should not trust, she assumes he means Julia, when he tells her its Alexis she doesn't believe him. Angelique goes to Maggie's room to borrow something of hers for another spell and finds John Yaeger stealing Maggie's clothes and pearl necklace. They talk and she aggrees to help him with his plan. Maggie is tormented by Angelique's voice again. Quenton enters the room but does not hear the voice. Maggie runs out into the night. Barnabas tries to stop her but fails. Yaeger captures her and locks her in the room he's prepared with her stuff inside it and a steel door he can lock from the outside. Yaeger tells Maggie that she can't expect help from Cyrus because he destroyed Cyrus. Yaeger forces Maggie to write a letter telling Quenton that she never wants to see him again, by threatening to kill Quenton if she doesn't.
Angelique becomes cold and chooses Roger to be her next victim but he is saved by Elizabeth. Angelique leaves the house and kills some stranger off camera. Since it was her step-father who brought her back she wants his help. He tells her he did not do it alone. Behind a green curtain is a door which leads to the one who helped him. In the room is the body of a woman (all we see is something covered by a blanket). Angelique's step father tells her that it is the woman's lifeforce that keeps Angelique from the grave but that the woman struggles to recall her lifeforce and that is why Angelique feels the cold. He knows of no way to stop it, short of destroying the body but that would result in the deaths of both women.
Barnabas' Julia overhears Angelique and the other Julia agreeing that Barnabas must be destroyed.
Quenton believes Maggie's letter.
Mr. Stokes wants to move into Collinwood. Angelique would not allow him to when she was alive but now he insits that when she is mistress of Collinwood again that he will be welcomed. To force her to agree he allows the other woman to temporarily summon her lifeforce back. Just as Quenton has agreed to take Angelique with him on a trip to Bagor, "Alexis" nearly faints. She recovers when her step father reverses the spell.
Barnabas sneaks into Angelique's old room, finds her dairy and learns that "he" had a plan to cheat death. Just as he's on to something the room transforms into the empty room of his time and his Julia opens the door to find him safely returned. He's distressed to be back in his own time because the other Maggie is in great danger and needs his help.
Interview with Lara Parker. She's nuts.

It must've been hard after a while to keep all the character names straight since one particular actor might play several different roles over the course of a couple of years or even in the same season if there's the parallel time thing going on etc. I'm surprised name flubs didn't happen all the time.

Volume 21 disc 2:
Note 1: I forgot to mention that starting with disc 1 of this volume the main screen is different, now shows a dark coastal scene.
Note 2: The ending credits list Alexis Stokes not Angelique Collins.
Barnabas has Julia go get the key to the room while he waits for it to change again. He wants Julia to lock the door so no one else will be trapped in the other time with him. He won't let her go with him because two Julia Hoffmans in one time zone might violate some cosmic law resulting in one of them dying. While she's gone the room changes again. Angelique's diary is gone however, because while Barnabas was in his own time Angelique found it open and hid it. Baranabas nearly has Hoffman under his spell when Angelique reenters the room and saves her servant.
Maggie convinces Yaeger that she's willing to go with him. He leaves for the lab. He finds Sabrina and Elizabeth there. After Elizabeth leaves, he writes a check, singing Cyrus' name. Sabrina is to take it to the bank and have a certified check mailed to New York. She's also to mail his clothes.
Hoffmann follows Barnabas and through the windows seas him enter a secret room. She's afraid to risk searching it while is in the house though.
Back home, Elizabeth has a nightmare in which she and Sabrina find Maggie's dead body in the lab. She tells Barnabas about it and about having met John Yaeger. Barnabas heads to the lab.
Sabrina follows Yaeger back to his hideout. Maggie had picked the lock to her cell but was caught before she could leave the basement. Sabrina sees Yaeger tie up Maggie and hears him threaten to kill Quentin. She heads to Collinwood, dropping the check. Yaeger finds it and catching Sabrina alone in Collinwood, strangles her. Elizabeth walks into the room. Despite the shock, she the presence of mind to exit the room and lock the doors behind her. She attempts to phone the police but Yaeger had torn out the phone lines [remember this is 1970 no cell phones]. Hoffman arrives. Yaeger breaks a window and flees to the lab, to try to become Cyrus again. Hoffman goes to the "Old House" [scripting error or did she flub her lines? In this alterenative time its called the Loomis House not the Old House] to use the phone there [William doesn't have Barnabas' idea of keeping the house as it was.] After reporting the murder she enters the secret room and finds an empty coffin. As she's about to leave the house Barnabas comes in. She tells him of the murder and they leave together [Jonathan Frid trips over something on the floor, camera cables probably.]
Yaeger drinks the last few drops of the potion. When the police tell Cyrus about Sabrina he seems shocked. Later, he phones Barnabas to tell him where Maggie can be found. Realising that the only way for John Yaeger to die is for Cyrus Longworth to die, Cyrus points a gun at his own head, "Die John Yaeger, die" but before he can pull the trigger the transformation begins again.
Maggie manages to untie herself but hearing footsteps hides in a closet. Barnabas finds Maggie's brush but not Maggie. Maggies hears the footsteps leaving. She exits the closet and her cell, running right into Yaeger. "Let her go!" Yaeger flees from Barnabas tossing Maggie down, she passes out. Barnabas follows Yaeger into the other room. Yaeger stabs Barnabas with his sword cane, but not being made of silver or wood it can't kill Barnabas. Barnabas pulls the blade out of hismself and knocks Yaeger down and strangles him. Maggie recovers and enters the room just in time to see the body of John Yaeger turn into the body of Cyrus Longworth.
Barnabas takes Maggie to Collinwood. Carolyn and Hoffman are there. Carolyn phones Quinton who flies home, without Alexis. This worries Hoffman. She phones Alexis to tell her about Maggie's rescue and John Yaeger's death.
Barnabas shows Quinton his friend's body and explains that it was John Yaeger he fought with and killed. Barnabas lets Quinton decided what to do. Quinton decides risking telling the authorities the truth.
Hoffman goes to the room and listening to the other Quinton and Julia Hoffman learns that Barnabas has a coffin because he is a vampire. "if those people who anything about vampires, Barnabas is as good as dead" says Quinton. Julia Hoffman uses a mirror to confirm that Barnabas is a vampire. Not knowing of the danger he is in, Barnabas returns to his coffin. As Julia Hoffman raises the hammer to pound the stake into Barnabas Collins heart a crowbar comes crashing down on hear head. The crowbar is weilded by Dr. Julia Hoffman. Dr. Hoffman hit her counterpart too hard, she killed her. Bruno enters the Loomis house wanting to borrow money. He thinks something is odd about Julia but leaves without learning anything. At Collinwood, Bruno learns from "Alexis" that Longworth and Sabrina are dead. He goes to the lab trying to find money.
William Loomis meets Dr. Julia Hoffman he threatens to shoot her, thinking she's working for Angelique, but she shows him the body of the Hoffman he knows. Dr. Hoffman impersonates the other Hoffman in order to find out if "Alexis" knows Barnabas' secret (she doesn't).
Bruno does not find money only a book. At first he's angry. Then he reads the book. He phones Alexis to tell her he knows who murdered Angelique. Bruno goes to Alexis' room but does not bring the book. He wants $5,000 for it. Alexis sells a diamond necklace to get the money. The book is Cyrus Longworth's journal. It it he confesses to falsifying the cause of Angelique's death (as a stroke) in order to protect Quntin Collins who killed her with a hat pin to the base of the skull. Bruno wants Alexis to take the journal to the police but she refuses. She'll use it in her own way. Bruno says he has a copy of the relevant page and gives Alexis two days to use the journal.
Angelique casts a spell which causes Maggie to go into Alexis' room and take a necklace. As Quinton talks to Alexis she pretends she being strangled and shouts "Stop her stop the witch". Quinton runs up to Maggie's room and finds her twisting a necklace. He takes it from her and accusing her of being the cause of all the troubles in the house runs out of the room in a rage. Angelique tries to convince Maggie that Barnabas is behind the plot to destroy Maggie.
Barnabas awakes to find Hoffman standing by his coffin, he threatenes her. She tells him that she's Dr. Hoffman that she came through the room. He wants her to return to her own time but she refuses insiting that she can't find out Angelique's plans and maybe how to destroy her.
Maggie goes to see Barnabas not because she believes he's behind it all but because she's afraid that she might really be a witch and have been doing things she doesn't remember. Barnabas assures his this is not the case but does not tell her that Alexis is really Angelique.
Angelique reveals to Hoffman that it was Quinton who murdered her and as she is gloating about how she will have her revenge she suddenly becomes weak. She cries out that Hoffman should stop her father before passing out. Julia doesn't know where Angelique's father lives so she consults a phone book. Mr. Stokes shows Hoffman the body and explains that its lifeforce was stronger than he thought but he gave the body a drug that should supress it. Julia returns to Angelique and convinces her to invite her father to the house to pretend to be his friend.
With Stokes out of his house, Julia takes Barnabas to the room where the body is kept. The plan is to destroy the body, thus destroying Angelique but when Barnabas sees the face of the innocent girl he can't bring himself to destroy her, instead he wants Julia to revive her, which would also destroy Angelique. Julia doesn't believe she can do it because A) she doesn't know how Stokes put her in the condition she is in and B) they don't have a lot of time. When Barnabas holds the girl's hand, her fingers move. Her eyes open. At Collinwood, Angelique is bragging to her father how she will ruin all the Collins, except for her son (so there is someone she loves after all). Suddenly, she colapses and Mr. Stokes realises that someone must be with the body, he rushes out. When Julia and Barnabas hear the door to the house opening, Julia tells Barnabas to go. He doesn't want to leave her alone but she insists and Barnabas fades away. Julia convnces Stokes that she had a premonition that Angelique was in trouble and that when she checked on the body she saw the hand move.
"Alexis" goes to see Bruno. She tells him Maggie is interseted in him. He goes to see Maggie who welcomes him as a guest. He misreads her reaction to him and tries to kiss her. Roger is listening at the door and thinks he's got Maggie doing something wrong. Bruno leaves miffed that Maggie rejected him. Though Alexis tells him not to, Bruno phones the police, to report that Quinton murdered Angelique. The camera focues on Angeliques wicked smile. She only pretented she did not want the police called because she known that would drive Bruno into calling them. An inspector gets the page from Bruno. He questions Quinton. When Angelique admits to getting the journal from Bruno, Quinton is furious. Angelique asks to speak to Quinton alone, claiming she can calm him down. In fact she only makes him angrier so he goes running off to Bruno's cottage. Quinton nearly strangles Bruno to death but realises it isn't worth it and stops. Bruno is never the less chocked to death, by Angelique's magic. The inspector walks in to find Quinton bent over Bruno's dead body. Quinton is arressted for supicioun of murder.
Angelique plants a figurine with Bruno's scarf wrapped around it in Quinton/Maggie's bedroom. When the inspector allows Quinton to pack a few things, Quinton finds the figurine and thinks Maggie killed Bruno but doesn't tell the inspector. Barnabas visits Quinton at the police station and tries to assure him that Maggie is not the witch. Barnabas and Quinton plan to meet at Collinwood the next night, after Quinton is released on bail. However, the cornor finds that Bruno died of strangulation and the charge is upgraded to murder in the first degree and bail denied. Barnabas tells Maggie that they can help Quinton as long as he cooperates with the authorities. "Alexis" convinces Quinton that he needs to escape in order to solve Bruno and Angelique's murders. "Alexis" screams, the inspector comes running, Quinton uses a karate chop to knock him out and flees the police station.

Dark Shadows Volume 21 disc 4:
Angelique hears the other Quenton and Maggie talking about Dr. Hoffmann having followed Barnabas into her time. Angelique lock Juila in a secret room to attempt to force her to reveal Barnabas' secret.
Elizabeth over hears Roger talking to Angelique's portrait and concludes that he murdered both Carolyn and Angelique. She trains to kill him by hinting him over the head, but he's stronger thans she and ends up strangling her to death. He hides the body in a windowseat.
Roger attempts to frame Quenton for Elizabeth's murder but talking to himself again he alerts Maggie to the fact that he killed Elizabeth and so he tries to strangle her but is stopped from killing her by the appearance of "Alexis". Roger flees. Maggie tells Alexis that Roger admited to killing Angelique, Carolyn and Elizabeth. Angelique freezes Roger to death.
Claud North finds Roxane and threatens to maker he speak, which would destroy Angelique. Barnabas doesn't want Angelique destroyed until she confesses to Bruno's murder, but with Roxane standing by Claude, Barnabas is unwilling to kill him. Angelique dies (again) as Roxanne speaks. Maggie and Quenton are reunited but the inspector doesn't believe Barnabas' story about Angelique and witchcraft, he insists on taking Quenton back to jail on the charge of murdering Bruno. He also doesn't seem to accept Roger's confession to the other murders. I can see why, he only has Maggie's word for it that Roger did confess.
Barnabas and Maggie think that Julia could proove that Angelique killed Bruno (I don't see how) but neither she nor Roxanne can be found. Barnabas finds Claud North with a dagger in his dead body. Barnabas accuses Angeliques father.
Exhausted, Julia falls asleep just as Barnabas and the police inspector begin calling her name. Had she been awake she'd have been rescued. Julia dreams that Barnabas, in love with Roxanne and believing Julia to be dead, returns to their own time, taking Roxanne with him.
Barnabas and Roxanne express their love for one another. He sends her away, so he won't be tempted to bite her, but she returns, and he bites. Since Roxanne has pyshic powers, Barnabas asks Maggie to find an article of clothing belonging to Julia Hoffmann. Maggie finds a scarf. Holding it, Roxanne announces that its owner is dead.
Stokes finds the fang marks on Roxane's neck and realizes what Barnabas is.
Following her husband's wishes, Maggies leaves Collinwood, "forever" (the children having already been moved into town). He's given up. He believes he's as good as convicted but even if he's not, he wants know more of Collinwood.
Barnabas takes Maggie to the Loomis House. There he suddenly realies his blunder, the scarf belonged to this time's Julia not his own. Roxanne is able to find Julia. Roxanne has a dream in which Barnabas is seperated from her by fire.
The autopsy on the body of the woman claiming to be Alexis Stokes proves that the body is really that of Angelique Collins (it has the wound that killed Angelique originally). And Quenton as her husband, requested that the body be cremated, foiling her father's plans to bring her back again. Stokes vowes revenge. He kidnaps Maggie. Released from jail, Quenton goes alone to Collinwood as Stoke demands, but Julia and Roxanne found Barnabas and he arrives in time to save Quenton and Maggie. However, Roxanne is abducted. Quenton and Maggie take refuge at the Old House while Barnabas and Julia search Collinwood. Crazy Stokes plans to burn it the ground, with Barnabas and Julia trapped upstairs. [Apparently he's forgotten that Barnabas could turn into a bat and fly away.] Roxanne breaks away from Stokes and attempts to reach Barnabas. As he watches the flames spreading from the safety of Angelique's room, he and Julia suddenly find the room changed.
Barnabas and Julia think they are back in their own time, until they notice a smell of dampness and decay. Outside Angelique's room Collinwood is a ruin. Going to the Old House (off camera) they find it in no better shape. At the cemetary the discover a grave indicating that David Collins died in 1970. A fresh grave has the year, 1995. Some how they have traveled 25 years into the future. They find flowers on David's grave. An old woman appears. Its Mrs. Johnson. She thinks Barnabas and Julia are ghosts. They try to question her but all they learn is that some great tragedy happened to the Collins family. She leaves giving them a clue where to look for more information, shack Finely's cove. They find the "shack" full of objects from Collinwood, including the portrait of Barnabas. Some turns the door knob.

He sees them at sleeping after attending party. Roxanne chasties Sebastian for revealing too much to Stokes. He tells her that the children were not asleep but were dead. Later he tries to go warn Mrs. Stoddard byt Roxanne stops him, because brining such news could jeapordize her as a client. David and Hallie take the dolls from the dollhouse and burn them believing the dolls control them. They go to the Play Room hoping to find it returned into a closet, but not only is the playroom still there but the dolls are back in the dollhouse. The dollhouse lights up. David sees a man inside it. Julia and Stokes decided to tell Shaw about Julia's trip through time,. David decides that he and Hallie need to right down everything that has happened to them so they're families would not what happened to them after they are gone. Shaw uses his abilities to try to see Rose Cottage. He claims not to be able to see anything usefull. The children are called downstairs but Shaw won't talk with them. The dairy's author believes all time is one that only space seperates what well think are different times. Quentin finds an entrty that worries him "tomorrow we bury Carrie and Tad". David and Hallie have a nightmare in which a horrible looking man leads them down the stairs, to see the dead bodies of Carrie and Tad. That man appears in the hallway and follows David into his room. David screams. Julia burts into David's room, Gerard is gone but Julia senses his prescense. David lies about him, claims to have had a dream about a war.
The ghost of Gerard forces the ghost of Daphne to write Quentin a note stating that she will tell him everything at midnight. Quentin goes to meet Daphne and is almost strangled by the ghost of Gerard, he is only saved by Julia entering the room (neither realized Quentin was nearly killed). Quentin lies about why he came to the room, claiming he heard a noise and thought it might be David.
Sebastian doesn't want to return to Collinwood, ever but Roxanne makes him. He has a vision of a room which terrifies him. Julia enters Daphne's room and after smelling lilacs and feeling cold she decides there is something evil and her horroscope is wrong. She goes to the drawing room to tell Julia that they need to take the children from the house, but finds Gerard there instead of Julia. As far as David and Hallie know nothing has happened for 3 days so David wants to stand on Gerard's grave at midnight, to find out of his spirit is at rest. Julia falls under Gerard's spell and does not tell Julia to remove the children from the house. Julia finds a book about the Java Queen, the ship Tad's model is a copy of. On Thursday, August 27, 1841 the ship sank will all hands lost. The ship's infamous captain was believed to have survived and ploting to raise his crew from the dead to rob and plunder again. At midnight David stands on Gerard's grave. Gerard appears. David and Hallie run back to Collinwood. Julia catches them trying to sneak up the stairs at nearly 1 in the morning. They lie about why they were outside (star gazing). While Julia talks to Hallie, David steals an old parchment from one of the books Julia was studying. Elizabeth places a bust on the railing a top the stairs. Julia recognises it as the bust that nearly killed her in 1995. The note David took is from "G" to his men, about a signal to raise, a green flag showing from the tower window. To placate Gerard, David plans to make the signal. He waves the flag twice and graves shake. A third time and the dead pirates would have game out of their graves. Julia catches David in the tower room. She had seen him take the paper and followed him.

Darkshadows 22 disc 4
[Opening narration by "David Collins"] Julia loses track of Maggie in the woods. When she meets Barnabas he sends her back to the house. [Frid garbles his lines so bad he's barely understandable. He's not alone in this episode full of messed up lines.] Hallie is hesitant to meet with the ghost of Carrie. Carrie calls for David. Julia catches David and Halle on the stairs and sends them back to their rooms, they go to the playroom instead. Barnabas finds Maggie unconcsious. He carries her back to Collinwood. Dr. Hoffman says she needs a transfusion but Barnabas says their would be questions they can't answer so Julia plans to care for Maggie herself. Barnabas' attempt to control Maggie fails. David tries to find out why the dollhouse lights up, but can't find any reason for it. Julia suggests that Barnabas and the other vampire could have a supernatural link and perhaps he could summon it, but then decides its too dangerous, because then the other vampire would know about Barnabas. The ship model has suddenly appeared in the dollhouse. Hallie decides that the dollhouse must be destroyed. David doesn't think it can be, burnt dolls reappeared. Barnabas and Julia still don't know where Rose Cottage is and worry about "the murder" clue. David and Hallie decide to leave the playroom. As they are going they notice that the dolls have vanished from the dollhouse. Carrie calls them back, telling them to look through the window of Rose Cottage. They see themselves in the dollhouse. "See David. See Hallie. Now you know what's to happen to you, now you know."
[Opening narration seems to be cut off in mid sentence, I'm not sure if it is Maggie or Carolyn's voice] David is a fatalist, he refuses to try telling anyone because they can't change anything. When the music starts playing David says they may even like it in Rose Cottage. Maggie hears the music but all she finds is a linen closet. When David leaves the playroom, he tells Maggie that the music is coming from an outside radio through an open window. Hallie finally listens to the music and goes downstairs. The next day, David and Hallie start making a doll, of someone who is going to live with them in Rose Cottage. Maggie has Carolyn close the blinds, the sunlight hearts her eyes. Sebastian wants to see Maggie and tells David he can't do his horroscope. Sebastian is surprised that David doesn't care. Carolyn tells Sebastian what little she knows about the attack on Maggie. Hallie wants David to draw a face on the doll but doesn't know yet whose face. Maggie won't see Sebastian so he leaves. David and Hallie make the doll but they don't know the woman, Letitia, who is to be in the room with them. They put the blond haired doll in the cottage. Carolyn starts humming a familar tune. Its night, Maggie tries to leave her room but Carolyn stops her. Carolyn finds herself in the playroom.
[Opening narration by "Sebastian Shaw"] Carolyn meets the ghost of Gerard, she attempts to get away but the door is locked. She falls under his spell. She's now happy to be in the play room and recognises Rose Cottage and Letitia as herself. Elizbeth who now believes completely in her horrorscope accuses Julia of lacking sens. Elizabeth claims the last clue, Carolyn singing a solo, will not come true because Carolyn can not sing. Julia reads in a diary that on this day in 1841 not much happened but the next day their was a concert. Elizabeth follow Carolyn into an old, unused room. Carolyn is wearing an old bonnet. Elizabeth leaves her alone. Carolyn finds "Gerard's surprise". Sebastian wants to see Maggie, Julia tells him she is not seeing anyone but agrees to ask Maggie if she will see him. Maggie comes downstairs and has a strange reaction to Sebastian. She claims its not about Jeb. She senses that he is very unhappy because he is depenent on someone but does not want to be. Julia appears as Carolyn is talking about now having second sight. Maggie is asleep but Elizabeth will see Sebastian. Carolyn runs out the room saying she cannot help Julia. Elizabeth won't ask Maggie to see Sebastian, she wants him to do Maggie's horroscope. Carolyn asks Sebastian why he won't tell Elizabeth that her horroscope is a lie. He of course denies it. After he leaves, Carolyn doesn't tell Elizabeth about her horroscope. Carolyn lights candles for her surprise and asks Elizabeth to call everyone into the drawing room. Elizabeth doesn't know what she is talking about. Gerard appears to Carolyn and she starts her concert without anyone but Elizabeth as an audience. Julia comes down the stairs and hears the song. She tries to stop Carolyn from singing, knowing its one of the clues to the destruction of the Collins family.
[Opening narration by "David Collins"] Failing she goes to check on then children. Carolyn faints. Elizabeth calls Julia back to the drawing room. Elizabeth and Carolyn will not cooperate with Julia. Julia finally checks on the children. They are complaining about their summer studing. They claim not to have heard the music even though they know that Carolyn is Latitia. Julia goes to the Old House to tell Barnabas about Carolyn' song. Barnabas recognises the words Julia quotes to him as being from Pansie Fay's song. At Collinwood he tries to question Carolyn. She claims she decided to sing because she read in the dairy about the concernt and thought it would be amussing. She uses her second sight to see the playroom. Barnabas wants to get David and Hallie out Collinwood this night. David and Hallie plan to put a Barnabas doll in Rose Cottage in the hope that Barnabas can find the room. David sense that Barnabas is somehow different from the others who entering the playroom have fallen under Gerard's spell. Elizabeth won't let Barnabas and Julia take David and Hallie to Professor Stokes. David puts the Barnabas doll in the dollhouse. Barnabas and Julia take Elizabeth's to David's room. The children enter the room. Barnabas and Julia feel an unnatural cold. He sends the children to Hallie's room. Barnabas again insists on taking the children to Stokes. Back in the playroom, the children find that the Barnabas doll has been destroyed. Elizabeth has finally agreed to let Barnabas take the children to Stokes. Hallie has returned to her room. Barnabas returns to David's room, but David isn't there. On the stairs, David hears the music and leaves the house.
[Opening narration by "Quentin Collins"] David meets Gerard's ghost in the woods. Julia has Hallie in the drawing room and won't let her go until she tells her everything. She asks her what Gerard and Daphne want. Hallie slips, says she hasn't seen any ghosts. Julia never said they were ghosts. When Hallie sees Daphne out the window she tries to runaway, Julia chases after her and grabs her by the hand, demanding to know which ghost she saw. Quentin goes to Daphne's room and tries to ask the ghost where David is. She of course tells him nothing but Quentin finds a drawing of a house. Gerard leads David to the real Rose Cottage. Julia goes upstairs to pack Hallie's things, leaving Hallie with Quentin. Daphne's ghost appears and while Quinten is destracted Hallie runs away. Dahpne leads Hallie through the woods. Quentin tells Julia a half-truth, that he sensed a prescense in the room, turned to look, saw nothing, turned back and Hallie was gone. Julia finally smells the lilacs. David dreams of being inside the dollhouse. The dolls are crying. He hears Thad and Carrie talking about dying, so they can live again. Daphne appears. David wakes to find that Daphne is really there, reaching for him. And Hallie is there too. David wants to run back to Collinwood. Hallie says it is too late. Gerard appears. In the wood searching for the children, Quentin suddenly recognizes the house. The children are taken to the room, they saw in dreams. Gerard and Daphne leave the children along sitting at a table. Tad and Carrie appear, "Goodbye David," "Goodbye Hallie".
[Opening narration by "Carolyn Hawkes"] Tad and Carrie become solid. David and Hallie vanish. Tad says that they are alive now. Tad tells Carrie that they must answer to the names David and Hallie now. Barnabas and Julia have searched all of the grounds of Collinwood but could not find David or Carrie. Julia suddenlyb realises that Rose Cottage could have a different name now. Quentin found "Rose Cottage" but there is no one there (Tad and Carrie having already left). Julia does more research while Barnabas paces. Carolyn is not at all concerned that David and Hallie are missing. She tells them that David and Hallie are gone but then says that children [not David and Hallie] are alive and well. Now Barnabas thinks David and Hallie have disappeared inside the house, in the elusive playroom. Quentin lies to Julia about not seeing Daphne. Barnabas finds Carolyn in the linen closet, she thinks her bedroom is in the west wing. When he calls her Carolyn she says she is Latitia. Barnabas finds "David" asleep in his bad. Julia found "Hallie" in her bed. Of course Barnabas learns nothing from the children but he hears Carolyn say "goodnight Tad, goodnight Carrie" and their responding "Goodnight Letitia". He reenters the room "You're possesed you are both possesed." He's off a little, they're all 3 possessed.
[Opening narration by "Quentin Collins"] The children of course deny being possessed, claim to be playing a game. He tests the children by asking mother's name, date of birth, name of governess before Maggie. They are forced to admit the truth but claim nothing can be done about it. Carolyn says that even these children don't know what Gerard and Daphne really want but won't say what it is. Carrie asks Tad where David and Hallie are, are they dead. He says that are not dead but as long as they are here David and Hallie don't exist. Carrie hopes nothing bad has happened to them. Carolyn looks at Quentin and sees pain and guilt in his eyes. Julia tells Barnabas that she believes Quentin is helping Gerard, that he's already under Daphne's control. Tad has Gerard's ship model. Carrie has to go to Daphne's room and get something of hers. They are going to bring Gerard and Daphne back to life. Confronted by Barnabas and Julia, Quentin continues to lie. He finally breaks down when they tell him that the children have been possessed. As Tad and Carrie perform their magic ceremony Quentin tries to destroy a handcerchef that once belonged to Daphene, as a symbol of his rejection of her but it vanishes. There is a knock on the door, Tad reaches out to open it.
[Opening narration by "Quentin Collins?"] Tad opens the door and there stands Daphne. Her first words, "No one..." as she nearly faints. She tells the children that no one must know she is here. And that they will bring Gerard here. Hearing footsteps they hide Daphne behind the draperies in the drawing room. Willie Loomis (long time no see) walks into the room. When "David" refers to him as Mr. Loomis, he is immediatly supicious. They claim they heard somone at the door but no one was there. He believes they are lying and says no one will leave the room until they tell the truth. Carolyn tells Quentin that someone is in the house who should not be, she cannot give a name and its not a spirit. Hallie makes the mistake of calling Willie "Mr. Loomis" as well. They start calling him Willie and he finally lets them go up to their room, but he tells them he will find out what there secret is. Quentin wants to search the drawing room, behind the drapperies but Carolyn says no one would hide there too obvious. Quentin smells lilacs but still leaves the drawing room to search the rest of the house. Daphne plans to bring Gerard back tonight. Quentin returns to the drawing room to speak to Daphne's ghost. He wishes she was alive so they could love. Daphne cries, giving herself away. Quentin hugs her. She pulls away. She won't answer Quentin's questions. He kisses her. Loomis comes back downstairs and hears Quentin talking to someone. Quentin closes the drawing room door and says he wasn't talking to anyone. Quentin sends Willie back to the Old House. Daphne tells Quentin to stop thinking about her. Carrie does not want to, but Daphne insists that they bring back Gerard, because it will be worst for them if they don't.
[Opening narration by "Maggie"] According to Daphne, Gerard needs them to guide him back because the way is not easy for him, she had the love of the children to guide her. Willie returns to Collinwood and demands enterance into David's room. He finds the star and the candles on the floor, but not Daphne who is hiding. He knows they are Tad and Carrie. He insists that they go to see Barnabas. He takes them to the drawing room to wait for Barnabas. Dogs are heard. Willie leaves Tad and Carrie in the drawing room when Maggie comes down the stairs. He takes her back to her room. Tad remembers the hollowing from their own time. The ceremony failled. Gerard's ghost appears and he's apparently angry, though he doesn't speak a word. Tad blames Willie for the failure. Daphne appears and tells Gerard that she hopes that when he is alive again punishment won't be so important to him. She says the stars are out of alignment now they can't perform the ceremony again until tomorrow night. The ghost vanishes. Daphne tells the children not to let Quentin know what they are doing or where she is. Willie asks Maggie to tell him who is calling to her, of course she does not answer. Morning comes. "David" and "Hallie" want Maggie to stop Julia from taking the children away. Willie tells Maggie that they are possessed. Tad and Carrie sneak out of the house. At Rose Cottage, Daphne tells Gerard's ghost that Willie Loomis ruined the ceremony. He knocks over Quentin's picture, thinking its because of him. After the ghost leaves, Daphne realises that she cannot realise Gerard's evil on the world. Daphne tells Tad and Carrie to go wherever the others want to send them.Gerard sets the dollhouse on fire and the real house bruns with Daphne in it.
[Opening narration by "Carolyn Hawkes"] Gerard holds the door in the dollhouse closed, so the door in the real house is jammed shut as well. Carolyn senses that someone is going to die. Carolyn interupts Gerard, saving Daphne. Carolyn straightens up the dollhouse. Julia has briefed the staff of her sanitarium on the case iof Tad and Carrie (I'd like to hear that). A bat is at Maggie's window. Barnabas and Julia enter Maggie's room, apparently after the vampire had already been there as Maggie is worse than she was before. Julia learns that Carolyn intends to go to Rose Cottage. With the pretense of needing a letter mailed, Julia gets Carolyn to agree to wait why she gets the letter from Maggie's room. Julia tells Barnabas. He brings Carolyn the letter than follows her to Rose Cottage. Barnabas learns that Latitia had Quentin make a dollhouse which she gave to Carrie for her birthday. He tells Julia he's seen Rose Cottage, she tells him that if Maggie is attacked again it will be the end. Barnabas goes vampire hunting. He should have stayed with Julia. A shadowy figure appears behind her and she is suddenly tired. She falls asleep and Maggie leaves her bed.
Interview: writer Sam Hall (husband of Grayson, which I supect is the real reason Dr. Hoffman was not killed off as originally planned). Sam Hall blames the decline of Dark Shadows on network interference which Dan Curtis didn't fight because he was losing interest in his creation.

Julia convinces Daphne to go to the Old House with her leaving the children at the mental hospital. Tad and Carrie escape from Windcliff. Tad plans to run as far away from Windcliff and Collinwood as possible. Quentin learns that Professor Stokes has flown to Europe. Julia says their wiil soon be a murder then Rose Cottage will be destroyed, then the disaster will follow. Tad decides that he and Carrie should hid in an old, unused crypt, which turns out to be the home of the other vampire. Fortunantly it doesn't seem they hiding behind pillars. When they leave the crypt they find a victim of the vampire. They remember people dying of blood loss in the 1840s. Julia hypnotises Daphne and asks her who will be murdered, will the murder or the destruction of rose cottage come first and when will the cottage be destroyed. Daphne herself, the destruction of rose cottges comes first and it will happen tonight.
[Opening narration by "Mrs. Johnson"] Julia tells Barnabas what she learned from Daphne. Barnabas leaves Julia with Maggie, going to see Sebastian. He leaves a message with Roxanne. Then after talking to Julia again be goes to Rose Cottage to look for the children, they are not there, but Gerard's ghost is. And Barnabas tells it Gerard that he won't let him have his way. Back at Collinwood Mrs. Johnson meets Gerard'd ghost and tells Julia that she had a dream about something dreadful happening to Barnabas in a strange house. She describes Rose Cottage. Julia leaves for Rose Cottage. The house catches on fire and the door locks. Roxanne shows up and lets them out. Returning to Collinwood, Julia and Barnabas find Maggie is gone and Mrs. Johnson is out cold. Maggie meets the vampire in the woods. [Sebastian is missing so we are supposed to think he's the vampire but I think its someone Barnabas will be upset to discover is one of the undead.]
[Opening narration by "Carolyn Hawkes"] Julia hears music and hears Carolyn talking to someone but when she enters the drawing room Carolyn is alone and denies talking to anyone. Carolyn chasties Julia for not telling the children are missing when Julia asks who told her, she denies having been told by Gerard. Carolyn claims to have had a vision of where Maggie is but won't tell unless Julia tells her where the children are. Julia tries to trick her by claiming not to believe she has second sight, it doesn't work. Barnabas sends Willie to find out if Julia has learned anything from Mrs. Johnson. Willie finds Carolyn laughing at things that are not funny. He calls her crazy (smartest thing he ever said). She tells him a riddle that will help him find Maggie, if he can solve it. "Where the northwood's path is narrow you'll be at sixes and sevenths but look for the H and follow the arrow that points to Maggie Evans." Willie heads for the northwoods. He ends up at Eagle Hill cemetary. He finds the vampire's lair and Maggie with a badly wounded neck. He takes her to Barnabas and Julia. Barnabas wants Julia and Willie to both go to the vampire's lair during the day, two of them in case its guarded, to destroy the vampire since he can't do it. They are surpised that the coffin is left unguarded. What they find when they open the coffin shocks Julia "No...no" But the audience is left to wonder because the camera only shows Julia's face.
[Opening narration by "Sebastian Shaw"] The vampire is (as I expected) Roxanne Drew. Julia realizes that she has only seen her at night and that Sebastian Shaw always vanishes during the day so he must be the guard. Julia won't destroy Roxanne without Barnabas knowing about it first. She sends Willie to find Quentin. Sebastian has gone to the Old House. Julia shows up. Sebastian questions Julia about Maggie's illness. Sebastian goes to the crypt and discovers that the coffin has been moved. Julia sends Willie back to the crypt to get the stake and hammer he left behind. Sebastian finds the stake and hammer and is sorry that they were not used. He hides when Willie shows up. Julia and Willie chain Roxanne's coffin. When night falls they tell Barnabas. He opens the coffin, Roxanne tries to bite him. Julia uses a cross to subdue her. Willie replaces the chains. Julia can't convince Barnabas to destroy Roxanne. Barnabas throws the stake into the fire in the fireplace. He insists on speaking to her. He makes them leave the house but then Barnabas decides to leave himself, to take time to think. After he leaves, Sebastian comes out of another room, picks up the hammer and uses it to break open the chains. He opens the coffin and aims a gun at Roxanne.
[Opening narration by "Julia Hoffman"] Sebastian is stopped from shooting Roxanne by the ghost of Gerard. Sebastian shoots at the ghost instead, which of course useless. Barnabas returns. Sebastian shows Barnabas the fang marks on his neck. Because Roxanne is concertating on Maggie, Sebastian is free to act on his own. Barnabas stops him from destroying Roxanne. Sebastian says that Roxanne did mention Gerard Styles but he can't remeber what she said about him. Daphne knew a Roxanne Drew in 1840. Music stops her from telling Barnabas more. Barnabas and Quentin want to send Daphne away for her own good. Quentin poors some wine, he and Daphne drink. Daphne falls to the floor, Quentin grabds his chest in pain. The ghost of Gerard appears with a wicked grin on its face. [would have been more effective if the actor hadn't let his shadow appear on camera before he did.] Barnabas and Julia find the unconscious but Daphne but Quentin has vanished. She sees Quentin in a forest, dying. Quentin has fallen under Gerard's spell and no longer regards him as an enemy. Barnabas goes searching for Quentin. Daphne awakes briefly, says that Quentin is not in this time now but lives in Gerard's. Gerard takes Quentin to an empty grave. The ghost gives him a shovel. He uncovers a coffin "it's Quentin Collins' coffin". Carolyn shows up at the Old House to see Daphne. Barnabas lets her alone with Daphne. Carolyn gives her a dress from Gerard. Daphne refuses to wear it. Carolyn lets Barnabas and Julia back in. "Gerard will wave his green flags, no one can stop that". Caroln appears at the grave, Quentin recognises her as Latita. The ghost points at the coffin, and Quentin climbs into it. The ghost buries him alive.
[Opening narration by "Maggie Evans"] The children have shown up at the Old House, hungry and cold after 2 days in the woods, but Barnabas and Julia can't learn anything from them. Julia has found in a dairy that the original Quentin Collins died on this night. Maggie awakes from a nighmare about heavy chains wrapped around on object and a woman's voice calling her begging Maggie to come and free her. Sebastian tells her its just a dream. Barnabas finds an old death notice of Quentin Collins from 1840. Julia senses his presence. Sebastian wants to take Maggie away from Collinwood. Barnabas wants his help first. Sebastian sees a window in Collinwood and someone waving a green flag. Then he sees a cemetary and graves are shaking. Then he sees Collinwood on fire and Maggie escaping the flames. Finally he sees Maggie freeing Roxanne. Julia says she doesn't understand what his visiosn mean. Sebastian says it means the destruction of Collinwood and it it will begin tonight. Barnabas has Julia arrange to take Maggie to Windcliff. [You know they could have made a spin off series about Windcliff, would have been more interesting than General Hospital.] Maggie wants Julia to give a box to the children from Carolyn. Julia opens the box and finds the clothes the childen were wearing in 1995, the clothes they will die in tonight. They want to burn the clothes but the clothes vanish. Sebastian drives Maggie to Windcliff. Julia hears a heartbeating. Barnabas enters the room and hears it to. They decide its coming from upstairs. They find Quentin's portrait, the sound is coming from it. Barnabas realizes that Quentin must be buried alive.
[Opening narration by a male voice I don't recognize could it be "Gerard" who has never spoken?] Tad and Carrie enter the room and say that first Gerard killed Quentin then they died. To save themselves Tad tells Julia and Barnabas were Quentin was originally buried. They find a freshly dug grave. Someone is watching them. Gerard's ghost summons Tad and Carrie and of course they follow. Barnabas and Julia save Quentin. Gerard takes them to Daphne who wants them to put on the clothes they are to die in. Daphne begs Gerard to take only her but he silently refuses. Quentin takes Julia and Barnabas to the Playroom, the children aren't there. Barnabas, Julia, Quentin find the childrena and Daphne. Quentin wants Barnabas and Julia to take Daphne away while he stays alone with the children. He calls on Gerard. When Gerard does not respond Quentin calls upon the stars to restore David and Hallie. Gerard's ghost appears. Quentin tells the ghost that he has lost. Gerard grabs Quentin by the throat. Quentin colapses. The children flee. Gerard waves his green flags. Quentin recovers. Daphne got away from Barnabas and Julia. Quentin says the destruction is beginning, they must find Daphne and the children. Daphne finds the children but Gerard's ghost finds them. Gerard's dead crew raise from their graves. Quentin finds David and Hallie dead and Daphne is dying too. The dead crew make a mess of Collinwood. They start a fire. Quentin tells Julia and Barnabas to escape while they have time, that the house belongs to the dead. Julia finds the missing stairway end climbs it. When Barnabas tries to follow its gone. Julia finds herself in 1840, hiding from a living Carrie.
[Opening narration by a female voice I don't recognize] Carrie does not want Gabriel Collins (same actor as Sebastian) to disturb her grandfather, but they are guests in the Collins house and he won't take orders from a guest. Sebastian is in a wheelchair but never the less intimidates Carrie and she reluctantly opens the door and pushes him in. Mrs. Samantha Drew-Collins (don't recognise her) wants Carrie to go with her into the playroom. Tad is gone and she hasn't gone into the room since he has been gone. Julia is hiding in the room. Quentin took Tad boating. Quentin and Tad apparently drowned. Gabriel wakes Ben Stokes (same actor as always). Gabriel wants Ben to tell Daniel Collins that his son Quentin (Gabriel's brother) is dead, so that Daniel will change his will leaving everything to Gabriel. Ben refuses. Gabriel threantens Carrie if he doesn't. Carrie asks Samantha to talk to Mr. Collins in her grandfather's room. Julia thinks that she must get to Ben Stokes, that he would help her out of loyalty to Barnabas. She hides in Ben's room. Ben tells Samantha that the will is not going to be changed after all. She leaves and Julia speaks to Ben. Samantha tells Gabriel that he has failed. Julia hides again when there is a knock on the door. Carrie wants to know who her grandfather was talking to. He says himself. She thinks he was talking to Gabriel saying the thinks he couldn't bring himself self to say to man. Ben agrees to hide Julia until he can get her some clothes. When she asks for Daphne the children's governess he mentions Hortense. Gerard Styles brought the news about Quentin and Tad. Gabriel sends a note to Gerard. Samantha tells Gabriel that she went to see father in the tower room but he has broken out. Julia leaves the playroom and some one grabs her from behind.
[Opening narration by "Professor Stokes, doesn't sound quite like Ben Stokes"] Daniel Collins [same actor as Roger Collins] has grabbed Julia and drags her back into the playroom He thinks she is his wife Harriet (whom he murdered 10 years before). Ben saves Julia and returns Daniel to his room. In the hall Daniel tells Gabriel that his mother is waiting for him in "that room". Gabriel wheels himself into the playroom. Julia is of course hiding. Gabriel wheels himself out. Daniel doesn't like the tower room, he wants to return to his own room. Daniel doesn't belief Quentin is dead, he says Gabriel died or should have in an accident as a child. Daniel says "that woman will ruin our world." "Mr. Daniel our world was ruined a long time ago". Julia wants to hide in the Old House, until Barnabas comes. Julia tells Ben that Barnabas can send his spirit to his body in the coffin then summon someone to free him. She thinks she's heard him calling. Cousin Flora (Elizabeth actress) who lives in Rose Cottage comes to Collinwood for a visit. She's written a novel "A Summer's Death". She's looking for "the healer". Gerard Styles comes into the room (and speaks for the first time), she gives him her book. She has a headache. Gerard wants to be alone with Flora but Gabriel won't leave the room, he wants to watch "the healer" at work. Gerard hypnotizes Flora to heal her headache. Flora goes to see Gerard and Gabriel's wives. Gabriel hands Gerard an earring he found in the playroom. Gabriel sees a tall woman dressed in away she should not be. Gabriel laughs at Gerard and Gerard nearly strangles him in anger at being laughed at. Ben wants Julia to pretend to be Julia Collins sister of Barnabas Collins. She is to knock on the door of Collinwood at 8:30pm. Flora is working on a book about Letitia and her mystic powers. Gabriel brings up the legend of Angelique. Ben of course doesn't want to talk about it. Julia goes to the Collins family crypt instead of Collinwood. She's not sure whether to open the coffin or not, because if his spirit has not traveled through time the Barnabas of 1840 won't know her. She calls for the spirit of Barnabas to reach out for her.

Dark Shadows: Collection 23: Disc 2

After she leaves, Ben failes to convince Barnabas to stay in the crypt. Julia goes to Collinwood and claims to be sister to Barnabas Collins (son of the original), whomshe thought would meet her there. Later when Julia and Ben return to the crypt the coffin is gone. Gerard supicisous of Julia went through her room and found their an earring matching the one Gabriel found in the play room. He demands to know who she really is.
[opening narration by "Ben Stokes"] Jula bluffs it out until Ben Stokes shows up. Barnabas shows up at the Old House and takes down Josette's picture. Ben shows up there. Barnabas continues to reject Ben's story about Julia being from the future. Latitia Fay attempts to climps the future, 1970, at the request of Julia. She sees smoke. In 1970: Barnabas missed the afternoon funeral for Elizabeth, David, Daphne and Hallie, claiming to have been ill. Professor Stokes has returned from Europe, where he had gone to find the one man who could exorcise Gerard. Carolynm who is staying with Barnabas in the Old House, thinks her mother and the children are on a vacation together. Quenton who is suicidal is also at the Old House. He thinks he can see Daphne if he dies. Barnabas takes Quenton to Windcliff. As Barnabas attempts to astral travel in time, the doorway he opens in time shows a tombstone: "JULIA HOFFMAN COLLINS DIED OCTOBER 6, 1840".
[opening narration "Julia Hoffman" - funny to hear her talking about herself] Barnabas can't seem to get through the door, so Stokes wakes him from the trance. They go to the cemetary to look for the grave. They find it. In 1840, Julia meets Roxanne Drew (future vampire) and Lamar Trask (son of the late unlamented Rev. Trask), undertaker. Julia would like to warn Roxanne but she has no idea who is going to turn her into a vampire. Roxanne turns down Lamar's offer of marriage. Ask she talks about being destined to meet a gentle and kind, but mysterious man who will love her, Barnabas Collins is watching and listening. After a furious Lamar has left, Roxanne meets Barnabas he doesn't bite her then but later at her father's house he does.
[opening narration "Samantha Collins"?] Gabriel and Samantha have a quarral. Gerard correctly recognises that Samantha just can't accept that Tad is gone forever. Gerard kisses her. After she leaves, Gabriel reveals to Gerard Styles that he knows his real name is Ivan Miller and that he is a wanted criminal. For his first blackmail payment Gabriel wants a large quantity of arsenic. Samantha visits her sister Roxanne. Samantha senses that Roxanne is in love with someone but Roxanne won't tell her who it is. Gabriel wants Gerard to use the arsenic to slowly poison someone to death. After glancing at his pocket watch, Gabriel says the first person to come through the door will be Gerard's victim. Samantha opens the door, turns around and leaves. Gabriel offers Gerard 10% of the Collins estate, which Gabriel will only inherit if Samantha dies before their father, Daniel. Barnabas, after leaving a note for Ben, summons Roxanne. Barnabas bites Roxanne. He leaves her for dead in the gasebo, he wants her to be with him forever as a vampire.
[opening narration "Samantha Collins"?] Gerard misses a chance to point Samantha's coffee instead he takes the opportunity to poison her mind against Gabriel, not very difficult. Julia and Ben can't find Barnabas. Samantha goes for a walk and finds Roxanne. She goes back into the house and gets Gerard. When they get to the gasebo Roxanne is gone but the blood stains remain. Julia and Ben had taken her to the Old House. Gerard joins the police in searching the grounds for Roxanne. Julia sends Ben to Collinwood, to get alcohol to lower Roxanne's temperature should it be neccesary. Gerard finds Julia in the Old House. She claims to be looking for memorabelia. Gerard leaves. Barnabas tries to bite Julia but he faints.
[opening narration "Samantha Collins"?] When Barnabas awakes Julia grabs a cross to hold him back. After he tells her of what's happening in 1970 she lowers the cross. Roxanne awakes ansd wants Barnabas to come to her but he refuses. Julia sends Barnabas to Collinwood while she plants to hypnotise Roxanne in the attempt to erase her memory of Barnabas. Demond Collins (Willie Loomis actor) shows up at Collinwood with a surprise for his mother, Flora. His surprise is a head in glass box. Its a gift for Quentin. Flora has to tell him that Quentin is dead. Barnabas shows up at Collinwood. Roxanne gets away from Julia. Jullia shows up at Collinwood alone. Roxanne shows uo at Collinwood. Julia lets slip that she is a doctor. When Roxanne sees Barnabas she says "I know you" before fainting. Barnabas tells Desmond that she must have seen the potrait of his father, which Ben Stokes keeps in his room. At Rose Cottage, Flora senses that the head in the box is evil and flees from it. Demond runs after her. Neither sees the eyes on the "carving of a head" open.
[opening narration "Daniel Collins" pointing out that history has gone wrong Quentin and Tad already dead and no sign of Daphne] The head's eyes are closed again. When Ben sees the head he senses the evil and tells Desmond to get rid of it. Barnabas wants to meet Daniel Collins, to get him on his side, even though there is the risk that he may recognise him as the original Barnabas Collins. Ben takes Danile out of his room to meet Barnabas, who he does recognise as being the same man he knew as a boy but of course Barnabas claims to be his own son and Daniel has no choice but to believe it. They talk about how Barnabas senior loved the Old House so and Daniel says that Barnabas may stay there if he likes. Daniel and Barnabas meet Gerard who tells how Quentin and Tad were washed of the ship on which Gerard was first mate by a huge wave during a sudden storm. Back in Daniel's room, Ben asks Daniel if he remembers a reading about a series of murders and a disemodied head. Daniel remembers a book, Ben finds and reads it. Ben goes off to see Desmond to get him to destroy the head "before it destroys us". Ben sees the head with eyes open. He tells it he will warn everyone about it and leaves the house. Something attacks him in the woods.
[opening narration "Samantha Collins"?] Gerard is the only person who remembered that it is Samantha's birthday. He tells Gabriel that he won't use the arsenic that he has a better poison and that tomorrow Samantha will be dead. Samantha chases Edith Collins (Gabriel's wife) out of the playroom. Gabriel finds Ben's dead body. There is a bloody knife in his hand and the police think he killed himself trying to cut off his own head. Gabriel tells Samantha that Ben is dead and suggests that Gabriel give her a drink. He does. Samntha and Gerard go into town. Gabriel waits for 6 pm when Gerard is come home with the tragic news of Samantha's death of stroke. Gabriel returns at 6 with the news that everything has gone as planned. Gabriel is surprised to see Samantha walk in the door and then astonished when Gerard announces "Gabriel, Samantha and I were married this afternoon."
[opening narration "Desmond Collins"] Gabriel tells Daniel about the marraige assuming he'll be upset. He's not. Gerard had asked his aproval first. Demond finds Ben's note about the head but even after reading the book he burns the note. Gabriel sends Desmond to the bank to get his deposit box. Gerard invites Daniel downstairs for champaign. Daniel is surprised and pleased. Desmond arrives with the box but when Gerard opens it it is empty. Gerard wishes he could take Samantha away from Collinwood because it has to many memories for her. She says that when she is with him she never thinks of them. "Not even of Quentin?" "Not even of him". They open the drawing room door. There stands Quentin, "Samantha I'm home"
[opening narration "Daphne"] Tad is in Boston with Luke Sims, the man who saved Quentin and Tad. Tad has a fever but is all right. Quentin wants Samantha to choose between him or Gerard. She chooses to not make the choice but to go to Boston to Tad. Barnabas goes to see Ben's body and meets Lamar Task. Dark Shadows: DVD Collection 23 DISC 3
[op narration: John Karlen (Desmond Collins)] Daphne declines to give Barnabas her name and claims to waiting for a broken down carriage to be repaired. Barnabas would force her to admit knowing Gerard but Desmond appears on the scene so he can't. Desmond insists on escorting her through the woods. Gabriel questions Julia about being a doctor, she claims to have studdied privately with a physician. Gabriel is shocked to see Quentin alive and well. Demond invites Quentin to come over and get a present but after staring at the head (or after it stares at him) he gives Quentin some books on the occult instead of the head. He then hurries Quentin out (to prepare for Ben Stokes funeral supposedly). After the funeral Barnabas questions Demond about Daphne. All he learns is that her name is Daphne and that her carriage was not broken down. Daphne sneaks into Collinwood, to leave Quentin a note, and over hears Barnabas and Julia talking about their pretending to be people they are not. Desmond falls asleep and hears a voice say "Help me, you will help me!"
[op narration: David Selby (Quentin Collins)] Flora tries to get Desmond to get rid of the head. Daniel is pleased that Quentin is alive and does not believe that Ben Stokes killed himself. After talking with Daniel, Desmond goes to the office of the Collinsport Star to try to discover what the paper had printed about a series of murders (beheadings) 37 years ago and is surprised to find Daphne working there. He borrows the papers but instead of signing themm out as Desmond Collins he signs Judah Zachery then pretends that he's a writer and uses that pen name. Desmond talks to Daniel about Otis Green, the confessed murderer who claimed a disembodied head made him do it. Mr Green was commited to an asylum but eventually released. Desmond intends to meet him. Demond introduces Daphne to Flora and then to Quentin. The four of them have dinner togetherm, at Rose Cottage. According to Flora's Terot card reading someone close to Quentin has died recently. After dinner, Quentin is upset about a letter (contents unknown to the audiencee) and Daphne writes in her diary "Tonight I have finally met the man I am going to kill".
[op narration: Jerry Lacy (Lamar Trask)] Desmond writes in a journal with the name "Judah Zachery" on the cover. Latetia senses evil in Rose Cottage. Desmond escorts her out but she returns later. She finds the head. Roxanne appologises to Barnabas for blaiming him for her illness. Lamar Trask has prayed for health and spent time researching the relationship between Barnabas' "father" and his father. He accuses Barnabas of being in league with forces of darkness. Lamar Trask tries to get Roxanne to remember. Barnabas returns to escort Roxanne to Julia for an examination. Latitica senses that Lamar wants revenge for someone he never knew. He stumbles over his lines but finally asks Roxanne if she can tell him where his father's body is and name his murderer. She sees the Old House but can't say more because Barnabas interrupts the vision. Later, Barnabas finds Lamar in the Old House and kicks him out. Otis Green (Abe Vigoda) now an antique dealer, visits Desmond believing he is there to buy furniture he is shocked to see the head and has a fatal hear attack, but lives long enough to give Desmond clues to where his grandfather buried the body (of a man hung for witchcraft then beheaed to make sure he could not be brought back to life).
[op narration: ?] Letitia shows up at Rose Cottage and sees the dead body. She wants him to get rid of the head but he refuses. Letitia wants Gerard to take her away from Rose Cottage, he sends her back there to wait for him. Gabriel accuses Gerard of worrying that Samantha WILL chose him. Gerard asks Letitia what te future holds for him, she sees him made very unhappy by a woman's choice but doesn't know what she decided. Gabriel helps Desmond to decipher to Otis Green's last words, assuming that Desmond is looking for a treasure and that he will get half. Desmond goes to a cemetary and finds an underground volt.
[op narration: Joan Bennet (Flora Collins)] Desmond Finds a coffin with a huge cross piercing it. Inside the coffin Desmond sees a gold mask encrusted with jewels. He hires a drunkerd to remove the cross and carry the coffin out, for a $20 gold piece. Lamar and Gerard meet when Lamar goes to Rose Cottage looking for Latitia. She's not there but Gerard is willing to perform the ritual to contact the spirit of Lamar's father, for a price of course. Desmond left Tim alone with the coffin and of course Tim discovere the jewels and plots to keep them for himself, not as drunk as Desmond thought. Rev. Trask speaks but what he says is not what his son expected: he says that evil surrounds him in this house and to "beware the cross". As Tim removes the cross from the coffin, Trask's voice says "evil joins with evil, evil will walk again now". Tim thinks the fortune is his, but the headless body raises to murder him.
[op narration: ?] Desmond returns to find that the body is gone and that Tim has been killed. Gabriel and Samantha have another fight. Desmond finally decides to destroy the head (so the body will die) but when goes for it axe in hand, the head is gone. Letitia acts surprised that the head is gone and tells Desmond that it is for the best. He goes to Collinwood to find Quentin but of course find Gabriel who wants his share of whatever Desmond found. Desmond's legs don't work but is arms a very strong and he tries to force Desmond to talk but Quentin shows up. Gabriel is pleased to tell Quentin that Samantha and Tad have returned and that while Tad is in his room Samantha went out. Gerard and Samantha are busy kissing. Desmond finally tells Quentin the truth about his "gift". Letitia walks in on Gerand and Samantha but after Samantha leaves, Letitia tells him not to worry she has a new interest "and I am going to keep it". Quentin agrees to help Desmond find away to stop Judah Zachery. The next morning, Gerard receives a summons to Collinwood. An exhausted Quentin and Gerard wait in the drawing room for Samantha's announcement.
[op narration: ?] Samantha can't bring herself to face them both, so Quentin suggests she tell them one at a time and when she asks to speak to Gerard first he graciously leaves the drawing room saying "I'll be waiting in our bedroom". Gerard assumes that she has chosen Quentin and doesn't know how to react when she says she has chosen him. [Samantha has to blind not to see that he doesn't want her, not without Daniel Collins' money]. Samantha happily goes to tell Quentin. Gabriel reenters the drawing room and can tell by the look of misery on Gerard's face that she chose him. He is delighted, saying that they deserve each other and that his brother Quentin is the winner. He warns Gerard that he wont easily worm himself out of this because Samantha is just as devious as he is. Quentin thinks Samantha has chosen him, because from the window he saw a grim looking Gerard leaving the house. Samantha [is either as devious as Gabriel thinks or as dense as I think she is) and claims that Gerard is concerned for Quentin. She tells Quentin that "I want my freedom, I have chosen Gerard". Quentin is willing for to let her go to Gerard, but not to have Tad go with her, so she claims that Tad is not his son. She won't name the father. He tells her she may go but Tad is staying and if she tells anyone what she just told him, he will kill her. Samantha lies to Gabriel, claiming that Quentin refused to give her he freedom but then she tells Hortense to pack Tad's clothes and to bring Tad to her at Rose Cottage. Gabriel listens in at the door and tells Quentin. Quentin tells Hortense to tell Samantha that he will do everything in his power to see to it that she never sees Tad again, just before he fires her. Hortense finds a headless body in the woods. It rises up to kill her.
[op narration: Lara Parker (Angelique)] Julia and Barnabas hear something moving in the woods and then find Hortense. She wasn't quite dead, with her dying breath she told Julia a headless man attacked her. When Quentin learns about he death he leaves Collinwood. Samantha returns and plans to take Tad but Quentin returns to tell her that servants loyal to him guard Tad. Samantha decides to stay to make Quentin's life a living hell. Barnabas gets Quentin to tell him what he knows about the headless man. Barnabas sends Julia to warn Daphne not to accept the position of governess at Collinwood, because it will learn to her death. Daphe of course thinks Julia is crazy but Quentin soon goes to Daphne, recommend to him by Desmond, to offer her the job. A hooded figure enters the Collins family crypt and is surprised to find that "he is gone". This person lowers the hood, it's Angelique [damn I was hoping we would never have to see her again].
[op narration: Nancy Barrett (Letitia)] Angelique sends the gypsy Lazlo to Collinwood to find out if a Barnabas Collins is there. Barnabas tries to get Letitia to tell him where the head is but she denies knowing anything about it. Of course she is actually hiding it, being under its power. Lazlo meets Gabriel and Barnabas. Letitia finds the body. Lazlo tells Angelique that Barnabas is at Collinwood. She does tell Lazlo that Barnbas is a vampire. Letitia hides the body in a crypt. Angelique shows up at Collinwood, introducing herself as Mrs. Barnabas Collins to Gabriel. When he mentions Barnabas' sister Julia, Angelique pretends to know her (this Angelique has not been to the future yet). Letitia takes the head to the body.
[op narration: ?] The head and body are not immediately rejoined. The head gives Letitia unheard instructions. Angelique meets Daniel and gives her first name as Valerie but Daniel recognizes her as Angelique the witch. She conjures up Daniel's late wife. He promises to forget that she is Angelique if she will send the ghost of the wife he murdered away. She warns him that if he ever begins to remember Angelique his wife will haunt him. Julia learns some of the history of Judah Zachery and Barnabas remembers that his great uncle was one of the three judges who sentenced Judah Zachery to death. Angelique show up at the Old House. Barnabas sends Julia back to Collinwood. Angelique fails to convince Barnabas that she loves him. Letitia tells Julia that she found the body. Julia goes with her (why?) and falls under the spell of the head (eyes now open).

Dark Shadows: DVD Collection 23: Disc 4
Angelique's origins are revealed (Angelique is not her real name) and Gerard falls under the spell of Judah Zachary.
[OP narration: David Selby] Under the power of the head, Julia now plans to reunited head and body. Quentin reads the note: "Joanna is dead and you are responsible". Quentin has a visit from a friend of his former mistress who confirms that Joanna is dead. Daphne shows up to start her duties as new governess. Mrs. Collins is angry that Quentin hired a governess without her knowledge. He tells that he is taking charge of his son and if she doesn't like it she can get out. Daphne plots Quentin's demise. Samantha goes to see Gerard, who's cold to her, claiming that he's Quentin's friend and can't hurt him (you know the old saying, with friends like Gerard, Quentin doesn't need enemies). Samantha finally releases that he "married" her for the Collins position and wealth. Gerard tells Quentin about Samantha's visit. Quentin introduces Gerard and Daphne to each other. Gerard finds a red bag in the drawing room, inside he finds a pistol. Daphne returns to claim her red bag. Gerard confronts her about the gun. Roxanne's brother Randall Drew (a lawyer) shows up at Collinwood, to question Barnabas about Roxanne's death, after Lamar Trask told Randall that she died of an act of sorcerery and put the blame on Barnabas. Barnabas tells him that Lamar can't accept that she broke of their engagment because she did not love him and needed someone to blame. Barnabas and Julia plan for Julia to stake Roxanne. Samantha tells Angelique about a headless man in the woods. Snooping, Angelique finds Dr. Julia Hoffman's appointment planner, learning that Julia and Barnabas are from the future. Angelique casts a sleep spell on Julia so Julia fails to stake Roxanne as planned. Samantha can't understand why Barnabas was not at her sister's funeral. By the time Julia gets to Roxanne's coffin its too late, she's awoken as a vampire and intends to make Julia her first victim.
Julia is in fact bitten by Roxanne as Angelique planned. Julia wakes up in an old lighthouse. Angelique intends for her to die and rise as a vampire. "Gerard" introduces Quentin to his lawyer friend. Angelique meets Gerard and his lawyer. "Gerard" gives Daniel a horoscope in which he says that Daniel someone close to Daniel will lose his favor. "Gerard" pretends to have something in his eye to get Lamar's handkerchef. Quentin shows "Gerard" his incomplete time traveling staircase. JZ doesn't believe in it but sends Quentin to get the plans for it, then casts his spell to make Lamar have a dream in which he finds evidence that Quentin is a warlock and murderer. Lamar tells Samantha about the dream and she in turn tells Daniel that she suspects Quentin of practicing witchcraft. Daniel asks Quentin if he is "practicing whitcraft in this house." "No father I am not practicing withcraft in this house". He claims the time travel staircase is a harmless experiment. Daniel consults "Gerard" who suggest that Daniel take a look at the staircase, so he'll see that its harmless. JZ causes Daniel to see Quentin commiting murder. Daniel clutches his chest.
Daniel thinks he's seen into the recent past. Daniel tells Quentin he knows he's a murderer. Quentin of course denies it. Gabriel and his wife Edith, plant to stay up all night with Daniel, supposedly to comfort the sick man, but actually to get him to write a new will leaving everything to Gabriel. "Gerard" appologises for missing his date with the governess. She doesn't like the look on his face and wants nothing further to do with him. So he gives her a dream in which she is in love with him. Then Gerard tries to inlist Judith to his cause, Gabriel interrupts. After "Gerard" leaves, Gabriel tells his wife that Daniel will change his will in his favor. She doesn't believe it. Daphne can't remember the dream but doesn't want to sleep. She plans to stay up with Daniel. Quentin inlists the help of "Gerard" in catching who ever is sending him the letters. He pretends to go for a walk and Gerard pretends to invite him to Rose Cottage for a drink. Then Quentin sneaks back into Collinwood. He catches Daphne entering the drawing room with a piece of paper in her hand.
Quentin takes the paper from Daphne but its addressed to Desmond. She says its her note letting Desmond know that he can't go horseback ridding with him. After she's gone he finds the letter he was expecting. He sits at the piano and plays their song. His wife of course interrupts him. Barnabas and Randall return from Roxanne's empty coffin. Barnabas is supicious of Lamar, who denies meeting anyone in the woods. Roxanne summons Lamar. Barnabas and Randall follow him. Roxanne heard Baranbas and Randall coming and vanished. Barnabas leaves Randall by her coffin explaining that he needs to take Lamar away or Lamar will hinder them. When Roxanne shows up, near dawn, Randall uses a cross to keep her from her coffin.
Unable to convince Randall to drop the cross, Roxanne calls for Barnabas to save her (a silly thing to do since she knows he can't be out in the sunlight either. We don't see Roxanne die, just light shining on her and hear her screaming, then camera focuss on Randall and then switches to Julia. Julia recovers immediatly. Daphne wants to leave Collinwood, so her sister's spirit can rest. He convinces her to stay and kisses her. He leaves for Rose Cottage. Randall goes to the Old House, looking for Barnabas, he finds Lamar looked up. Lamar is so dense he doesn't understand why Roxanne called for Barnabas or why Barnabas is gone during the day. He looks for something to break the lock on the door. In the cellar, Lamar hears chains ratteling. Julia lies to Quentin about knowing what attacked her but Randall shows up and tells Quentin everything. Quentin and Randall agree not to tell Samantha about Roxanne. Julia has a key to the cellar so she returns to the Old House with Randall. Lamar tells them he heard voices and chains behind the wall. Julia claims its part of the foundations of the house and could not have anything behind it. Lamar and Randall are both supicious of Barnabas because he knows so much about vampires. The lights go out, the wind blows a door open and figure stands there in the dark.
The figure in the doorway vanishes. Daphne talks about leaving again. Quentin kisses her. Desmond find the missing diary in Gerard's room. Gerard talks to Flora and learns about the vampire attack. Desmond has locked up the book and Flora does not have the key. Lamar tells "Gerard" that Barnabas and Quentin are in league with devil. Lamar thinks they destroyed Roxanne because she disobeyed them by attacking Julia. "Gerard" claims he gave Quentin the ring, which has the same symbol that was found on the murdered woman's body, purchased from a witchdoctor that Quentin made Gerard visit during their travels togather. Desmond tries to warn Quentin about Gerard but of course Quentin won't listen. Lamar threatnes to expose Quentin. Quentin asks "Gerard" to try to get along with Desmond. And he tells him that he and Daphne are in love. JD casts another spell to make Daphne have another dream about loving him, not Quentin. Daphne goes to "Gerard". Desmond walks in on them, she leaves.
