I've got Dracula, Frankenstein and The Wolf Man DVDs each of which has several Universal films. Are those what you are refering to?

Considering the fact that I already have "Creature" on DVD, I'm a bit hesitant about getting the Legacy Collection. Sure, it'd be nice to have, but the two sequels much as I love them aren't worth me getting the original again. The same goes for The Invisible Man and Mummy collections. However, the collector that I am, it is indeed tempting!

Ah.
I didn't know there were Creature from the Black Lagoon, Invisible Man and Mummy collections. I thought there should be but those weren't available at Target when I got the others 3.
I've never seen the Creature films.

They just recently distributed them. I saw them at Media Play the other day for sale at 20 bucks per set! That's pretty damn good if you ask me.

had i got the original disc (at nearly the same price) i'd still probably buy the Legacy set to get the other two. think of it as $10 a disc for the two sequels!

The CREATURE, MUMMY & INVISIBLE MAN sets are definitely on my must have list. I was lucky to get the FRANKENSTEIN, WOLFMAN & DRACULA sets recently and they absolutely rock. Got the mega-set with the busts of the characters as well. That package is getting harder to find (and discontinued already), but the individual sets are readily available. Great stuff. We can only hope Universal continues with other classic sets which would feature THE RAVEN, BLACK CAT, etc and their great 50's catalogue.

I picked up Creature, Mummy and Invisible Man. Also two $9.99 double=sided discs, The Comedy of Terrors/The Raven and The Abominable Dr. Phibes/Dr. Phibes Rises Again. There were a bunch of these "Midnight Movies" discs but those were the only two I was interested in. Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde: 1932 & 1941 disc arrived in the mail from Netflix today. I've got a disc of The Munsters coming. So I'm going to have several horror film marathons. I almost didnt get The Mummy, I couldn't find it. Then a clerk moved some of the $9.99 discs uncovering The Mummy set. There was only the one set. There were several sets of Creature and the Invisible Man left. I want a law banning sealing DVDs with more than the shrink wrap. You'd think these $9.99 disks were made of platnum the way they are quadruple sealed, the shrink wrap then a seal on each of the three edges of the case. And inside the case is one of those metal secrety strips. The $19.99 two disc sets are just shrink wrapped. That's all that's neccesary.

I purchased the Creature set a couple of weeks ago. It is really a must have for Universal monster fans.
Looking at the making and hearing the commentary, I didn't realize how difficult it was for Ricou Browning and Ben Chapman to put on the Creature suit and do what they were suppose to do. This is clearly not some stunt guys putting on a Halloween custom and hamming it for the camera! People who look down on men-in-suits should hear what they have to say.
For "Revenge of the Creature", the commentary was done just this year with Tom Weaver, Bob Burns and Lori Nelson. And it was great to hear from Lori (the only actor who particpated in the commentaries) relate her stories.
And you had commentaries for the other movies, with Tom Weaver doing the first film and both he and Bob Burns talking on "The Creature Walks Amoung Us" and had some very nice things to say particulary about actor Jeff Morrow who they said was nothing but a class act.

I got the Drac, Frankie, Wolfie and Invisible man sets. The Creature is one that I must have at all costs!!!! I hope target gets it soon! If I find the mummy that will be cool just for the first film alone! But no big rush on that one!

Dracula, Frakenstein, Mummy, Invisible Man, Wolf Man, Creature. Any Universal monsters left? There could be an Abbott and Costello Meet set. Most of those films are available in other A&C sets but not one that's just the monster movies. I still haven't seen Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Do these discs have the original theatrical trailers?
And is it true the CFTBL's suit was actually yellow? I heard they used a yellow suit (rather then green) so it would show up better on screen.

i'd have to watch the doc again, but i think it's a pale green, not the deep green one they made for color photos. so there is probably some yellow in it, but it's not a bright yellow.
these discs are amazing.

I have all the legacy sets now, but haven't had a chance to get through all of the CREATURE, INVISIBLE MAN & MUMMY sets yet. Good to digest slowly. And there's the " Bela Lugosi Franchise Collection" due out this September. It will include THE BLACK CAT, THE RAVEN, MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE, THE INVISIBLE RAY and BLACK FRIDAY. It will be great having these on DVD, but to not include Karloff in the title packaging is ridiculous. BLACK CAT & RAVEN are 2 of their greatest teamings. If they release a " Karloff Franchise" set later, I might forgive. It would consist of lesser known Universals, but I'd still gobble em up.

Back from vacation today. Had a chance to watch some DVDs and flicks the last 2 weeks. Watched all 3 CREATURE flicks one night/day - truly awesome set. Next time round will watch with the commentaries. Oh, and it's good to be back. Missed all my online buds.

Yes, and did you notice the trailer for THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US presented it as part of a double feature (the other film being a crime drama I think [forget the title])? Very interesting. Also, there are several different trailers included for the first film. What a great set!
